BEST BUDDIES INTERNATIONAL PARTNERS WITH BMC SWITZERLAND IN SUPPORT OF INDIVIDUALS WITH INTELLECTUAL AND DEVELOPMENTAL DISABILITIES

THREE YEAR PARTNERSHIP WILL SUPPORT ALL BEST BUDDIES CHALLENGE EVENTS WITH BICYCLES AND ASSISTANCE

MIAMI, FL. Jan 06, 2016 – Best Buddies International, a nonprofit organization dedicated to establishing a global volunteer movement that creates opportunities for one-to-one friendships, integrated employment and leadership development for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD), is excited to announce that it is partnering with BMC Switzerland in an effort to further support the Best Buddies Challenge events.

As part of this newly-launched partnership, BMC Switzerland will become the Official Bike Sponsor of the Best Buddies Challenge: Hyannis Port, Hearst Castle, and Miami. BMC Switzerland is supporting Best Buddies by providing a premier fleet of rental bicycles to be available for participants at all three Challenge events. In addition, BMC Switzerland will be providing a special discount program to purchase bicycles for registered riders with participating local BMC dealers.

“Best Buddies is incredibly honored to partner with BMC Switzerland in support of our Best Buddies Challenge events,” said Anthony Kennedy Shriver, Founder and Chairman of Best Buddies International. “Year after year, our goal is to continuously improve our Challenge experience for cyclists, and I am confident that BMC Switzerland will help take our Challenges to the next level.”

“We at BMC are truly honored to join Best Buddies in their mission to improve the lives of individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. The Challenge series is a fantastic way to build awareness for the Best Buddies cause through the sport of cycling and we’re excited to align with Best Buddies in the pursuit of this goal,” said Devin Riley, Director of Marketing in North America for BMC Switzerland.

The Best Buddies Challenge is a series of athletic events in three key markets — Boston, California and Miami — that raise a cumulative $11 million for Best Buddies International. The Challenges are based around a 100-mile bike ride with optional shorter routes available along with the choice of a 5K run/walk. The 2017 Best Buddies Challenges occur on the following dates below:

Best Buddies Challenge: Hyannis Port – June 2-3rd, 2017

Best Buddies Challenge: Hearst Castle – September 8-9th, 2017
