There are certain principles and guidelines that you must follow when designing a website. You have to make sure that the design you choose improves the overall user experience and not the other way around. Of course, you also have to bear in mind the purpose of your website– is it a shop, a blog, or a sharing site?

There are a lot of things that you need to consider; hence, we compiled ten web design reviews to help you assess your own site.

tinitell

Description: Tinitell is a shopping site wherein you can purchase a wearable phone for your kids.

Color Pallet: The color pallet of the site is composed of pastel colors that are pleasing to the eyes. These colors are mint green, peach, and ash blue.

Typography: The written texts of the site are arranged properly. You can see professionalism and art combined as one. Typefaces like BrandonGrotesque, Sans-serif, Helvetica, and Arial are used.

Icons: Since it is a shopping site, the “Add to cart” and “Out of Stock” icons are what stand out the most.

UI/UX: The interface is very impressive. The whole design is very appealing and convenient for the users. The carousel web design allows the potential buyers to navigate easily and choose the product that they want.

Annoisli

Description: Annoisli is a site that pays homage to weird sounds that you can use as an alarm or just something to destroy your concentration.

Color Pallet: The site uses one background color for the whole page; it’s a color-switching background, though. The colors are green, purple, red, yellow, and blue.

Typography: There are only a few texts on the page, and all of them are displayed in short lines. It’s neat but kind of boring.

Icons: Most of the icons found on the site are the annoying sounds that they feature. Sounds like that of a baby crying, a car’s sound, a mosquito buzzing, and much more.

UI/UX: The user interface is free from any unnecessary clutter, but the whole page is just too plain, and the color pallet could still be improved.

Timeglass

Description: If you have trouble staying on schedule with your daily routines, then visit Timeglass and get their app to help you time anything you need to do.

Color Pallet: The background color is white all throughout, but the colors blue, green, and purple are also utilized.

Typography: The typefaces used are very readable. They are also professionally structured so as to make the whole page user-friendly.

Icons: There aren’t many icons displayed on the site. The icons are in blue color.

UI/UX: The design is what most sites that promote apps look like. The written texts are well-crafted, and the site clearly speaks the services that they promote.

PicToGIF

Description: The site offers people the chance to enhance their GIFs through a single purpose and user-friendly app.

Color Pallet: The color pallet is a little bit gloomy. The background is too dark, and the pop-out peachy-like color doesn’t blend well with the background.

Typography: The Sans-serif and Arial fonts are used, but, unfortunately, they aren’t enough to make the site appealing.

Icons: The “Download on the App Store” icon is the only icon visible throughout the whole page.

UI/UX: The website doesn’t have any appeal to the user. From the color pallet to the absence of images, these are just some of the things that the site should enhance.

Taggle

Description: Taggle is your go-to site if you want to manage your photos with hashtags.

Color Pallet: The whole site sticks to the minimalist white background color. It’s not bad, but it’s not the best either.

Typography: Helvetica Neue, Helvetica, Arial, Sans-serif, and Verdana are the font family used. They are not cluttery and are professional looking.

Icons: There are only a few icons on the site, but it’s not totally a bad thing as the major ones are clearly emphasized. The users even have the option to translate the page into other languages through the “language” icon which shows the country’s flag.

UI/UX: The site uses a parallax design that shows relevant information on how to use the app.

Kickstarter

Description: Kickstarter is a site where you can find fresh and useful technological innovations like smart door lock and more.

Color Pallet: The green color is a good contrast to the white background of the page.

Typography: There is nothing wrong with the typefaces used; however, the size is quite small and difficult to read.

Icons: The conventional icons can be easily seen on the first full page of the site.

UI/UX: The user interface is okay. The carousel design is used in the first full page which is an excellent idea. You can tell that the site is active and functions properly.

WHYM

Description: Are you a beer lover? If yes, then WHYM is a site that you should check out. It is a where you can get hundreds of recipes to mix your own beer.

Color Pallet: The colors white, black, and orange, surprisingly, blend well together. The white is used as the background while the orange color is used for the site’s buttons.

Typography: The Sans-serif typeface is dominant. The whole texts are great and very stylish, but the readability is not compromised.

Icons: The buttons on the page are in minimalist design. They may appear simple, but as long as the important buttons are bordered with colored boxes, then the users will not have any problem looking for them.

UI/UX: The full-page image in the site’s header is great. The image-text-image pattern is very strategic and easy to follow. The users will not have any problem navigating the site.

Gametop

Description: Gametop is the ultimate site to download your favorite online games, like the Martian Transporter.

Color Pallet: The background is white, but the red and green colors for the buttons are aggressively displayed on the site.

Typography: The displayed texts are readable but fall short in catching the users’ attention. The lines of texts are also inconsistent.

Icons: The There’s no specialized icons used.

UI/UX: The interface is not that exciting, which makes the user experience a little bit boring, especially if you aren’t even an avid fan of online games.

Shots & Bytes

Description: This is a website that showcases various IT solutions.

Color Pallet: The combination of white and navy blue looks great on the site.

Typography: The blocks of texts are too long for a web content. The site will have better readability if the lengthy texts are broken into sections.

Icons: There are no significant icons featured on the site.

UI/UX: The overall user experience is fine, but the interface can still be improved. Maybe a few vibrant colors will also add to the appeal of the site.

BatMUD

Description: It is a game site where users can download tons of exciting games anytime!

Color Pallet: The color pallet consists of dark colors in which black is the dominant one.

Typography: The Trebuchet MS, Georgia, sans-serif, Arial, Tahoma, and Verdana are the typefaces used. The font family used looks great, but the size is quite disappointing. The users with poor eyesight can’t possibly be happy with how tiny the texts are.

Icons: The site sticks to using simple button icons on the upper part of the site.

UI/UX: Both the interface and user experience have the potential to be better. Additional relevant information will also be helpful to understand the purpose of the site.
