Sartori di Verona Amarone “Corte Bra” 2011 won a Gold Medal and “Judges’ Selection Award” for the Red Blend category at the 2019 TexSom International Wine Competition. Yet another medal for yet another Banfi wine, you say? Not so fast — this honor is highly esteemed and one that insists your attention. Gold medals come few and far between from the discerning TexSom Wine Competition judges, a panel that includes some of the most highly respected wine authorities and sommeliers in the world. From about 2500 entries in the 2019 competition, only 548 wines were were awarded Gold — about twenty percent. TexSom is perennially one of the toughest wine competitions in which to earn a Gold, and this year Sartori “Corte Bra” bucked the odds. Congrats to Andrea Sartori and the winemaking team at Sartori di Verona!
