I have good news furiends! I don’t have the nasty parasite Giardia, that April has!
I did, however, have to have my vaccinations today.
Thank you to all of you that wrote to me yesterday with well wishes for us both and to all of you who suggested that the vets check me for hyperthyroidism. Unfortunately they’ve already disposed of my blood, (silly humans) and after yesterday’s performance when I had to be sedated, they said I can’t have any more taken for at least a week.
They weighed me and I’m currently 5.1 kilos (11.2 pounds) which is right on the lower limit of what a male Siamese should weigh. The vet suggested mum keeps an eye on my weight and as long as I don’t lose anymore, I’m okay. If anything changes though, I have to go back and be sedated again to have more blood taken and sent away for the thyroid test.
I think it’s pawesome because I’m being fed dry and wet food and my full allowance of daily treats, because mum desperately wants me to gain weight again!
April’s doing well today. She’s a silly thing – she just crunches up her tablets straight away. If I were her, I’d demand they were wrapped in something delicious. She has to have them for five days, then she has a break for five days and finally she will have to take the tablets for another three days before she goes back to be checked again at the vets.
So hopefully we’re both on our way to being purrfect again now. I’m going to make an effort to gain weight so I don’t have to go back until next year!
