Classic New Orleans. Topping this list would have to be Commander’s Palace, a city landmark since the 1880’s. Known for its superb Creole dishes, elegant setting and fabulous jazz brunch. Classic dining comes with a French flair at Geautreau’s, an elegant restaurant with food to match.

Stellar Seafood. The name says it all. Superior Seafood is our go-to for casual atmosphere serving excellent fresh fish and seafood dishes, such as chargrilled oysters and BBQ shrimp.

Romantic Setting. This is a tough one as ideas of romantic vary, but with cozy booths and heart-warming French cooking, Lilette is a winner. Another charmer, La Crepe Nanou channels a Paris bistro with standards like moules frites, in addition to wonderful sweet or savory crepes.

Upscale casual. A favorite for its cool townhouse atmosphere—multiple dining rooms with walls covered in New Orleans art and artifacts—Upperline is also on the list because it serves terrific food. Fried green tomatoes shrimp remoulade is a specialty, and the pecan pie ala mode will have you begging for more.
