Installation of Pumpkin AA0437B VW Head Unit on Golf 5 2008
Fast delivery and everything was fine.
The installation in my Golf 5 2008 took place in a workshop where I was able to be there and wait.
Duration was approximately 45 minutes.
Radio with Canbus adapter is plug n play.
Simply plug in the cable for the Can-Bus, antenna from Doppel-Fakra to Iso, GPS and Wifi antenna and it was done.
WiFi and GPS antenna were placed well under the plastic of the cockpit and offer the best possible reception.
GPS offers an accuracy of approximately 2 meters in normal weather.

WiFi in the Android 9 Moniceiver offers 40 MHz (ChannelBonding) support with a speed of up to 150 Mbit (Link Speed).

My network MAC address has been crossed out.
My 8-button multifunction steering wheel with volume and telephone worked right away.
Parking aid (PDC = Park Distance Control) too.
Open doors, seat belts and hand brakes are also displayed.
Can be checked in the VehicleInfo app.
In the Android 9 Moniceiver, the black display for the non-existent reversing camera can be switched off under General Settings, Factory Settings (Password) and Function with Prohibit Reverse.
After a factory reset, the language in General Settings / System, the language and time zone can be set back to German.
The radio starts at lightning speed when switched on.
Therefore, I did without any car launcher and adjusted the homescreen.

The radio app is very good and allows all stations found to be stored well and clearly.
The reception comes pretty close to my previous RCD310 radio.
My music collection of 5 GB MP3 over the past 15 years has been moved to a fast external mini SD card with sufficient 64 GB.
I didn't get very far with the music app because no artists or albums could be selected and was replaced with my favorite Android music app.
It now even works with album pictures, album and artist.
Bluetooth is not integrated under the network standard, but in its own modified phone app.
The coupling worked very well and the automatic connection after a few times now also connect.
Favorites are not available for quick access.
To do this, improvise, either via the last call list or click on the magnifying glass and enter the first letters for the desired participant and then select.
A bit of a workaround with which you can live well with the price-performance ratio.
The external microphone could be dispensed with, since the internal microphone is integrated at the top of the radio and thus has a very good place.
The quality of the calls is more than sufficient.
The GPS test app contains advertising and could not be uninstalled.
Has been deactivated and replaced with the ad-free full version GPS-Test plus.
I use Sygic as a navigation system and was able to move the card to the external SD: card.
Works perfectly.
The ES File Explorer app also appeared, which has since been removed from the Google Play Store.
Has been replaced with the lightweight Cx File Explorer and works great.

Due to the good adaptability under Android, I am very satisfied and would buy the radio again and again.
