Watching fireworks light up the night sky is one of the most exciting ways to celebrate Independence Day. From Kyle to Georgetown, residents will have plenty of opportunities to catch a dazzling fireworks display this July 4th; you may be able to see some right from your own backyard In addition to fireworks, many Austin area celebrations will offer carnival games, food, live music, and parades to celebrate the 4th of July. While most of the events on our list are hosted on Monday, July 4th, a few will start the celebrations early on Sunday, July 3rd.

Austin
HEB Austin Symphony July 4th Concert and Fireworks- Celebrate Independence Day at Austins longest-running fireworks show. Over 100,000 Austinites turn out for this FREE event every year, so be sure to arrive early to claim your spot on the grass at Vic Mathias Shores (formerly Auditorium Shores). The Austin Symphony Orchestra kicks off the event with patriotic melodies at 8:30 pm, followed by glowing fireworks over Lady Bird Lake.
Hill Country Galleria Independence Day Festival- Visit the Hill Country Galleria on the 4th of July for a dazzling fireworks display. The event is FREE and begins at 6:30 pm with live music at the outdoor amphitheater. Bring your lawn chairs and blankets to claim a spot on the grassy lawn for prime viewing of the fireworks at around 9:15 pm. Grab dinner beforehand at one of the Gallerias restaurants. Kids can enjoy a free snowball and face painting, too.
Wells Branch 4th Fest- The Wells Branch neighborhood is well known for its annual 4th of July celebrations. Hosted at Katherine Fleischer Park, the day begins with a parade at 10 am, followed by a FREE festival complete with games, concessions, live music, kiddy train, inflatable obstacle course, and face painting. The parks pool will also be open for locals to cool off during the day. The exciting day concludes with a fireworks show at 9 pm.
Willie Nelsons 4th of July Picnic- Join country music legend Willie Nelson at the Austin 360 Amphitheater for an all-day concert. The lineup includes Brantley Gilbert, Lee Ann Womack, Allison Krauss, Jamey Johnson, Asleep at the Wheel, and Shakey Graves, just to name a few. The gates open at 11 am, and the night concludes with a fireworks display.
Buda
Red, White, and Buda- Celebrate Independence Day in downtown Buda. The festivities kick off with a childrens parade on Main Street at 8:30 am. Decorate your stroller, wagon, scooters, or bikes for a chance to win a prize. The party continues in the evening at 7 pm with hot dogs, hamburgers, and live music. The fireworks display will light up the night sky at 9:30 pm.
Cedar Park
4th of July Parade and Celebration- Start the 4th of July off with a parade at 10 am down Discovery Boulevard in Cedar Park. The celebration continues at Milburn Park at 4 pm with live music, inflatables, face painting, carnival games, and concessions. The event is FREE and concludes with a dazzling fireworks show after dark.
Dripping Springs
Fire in the Sky- Watch fireworks create a fire in the sky over Dripping Springs The gates of Dripping Springs Ranch Park open at 5 pm with food vendors, a petting zoo, bounce house and other fun activities. The event is free, but donations are encouraged to benefit North Hays County Fire and Rescue and The Explorers.
Georgetown
SERTOMA 4th of July- Georgetowns SERTOMA club is hosting a fun-filled 4th of July celebration at San Gabriel Park. The free event begins at 11 am with tons of craft and food vendors, kiddie rides, a petting zoo, and games. Live music and a parade are some of the highlights of the celebration. At around 9:30 pm, a dazzling fireworks display will light up the sky over the San Gabriel River.
Kyle
Independence Day Celebration Fireworks Show- Join your fellow Kyle citizens at the Plum Creek Golf Course for a fun fireworks show. Hot dogs and drinks will be available for purchase from 6 - 9 pm, followed by the fireworks display. The Hays CISD Performing Arts Center will also provide free music entertainment before the show, and offers a great view of the fireworks. If you cant make it out to one of these locations, just find a spot around the city within sight of the water tower for the best view of the fireworks.
Lakeway
July 4th Celebration- The city of Lakeway 4th of July celebration is not to be missed The day kicks off with a parade at 8:30 am, followed by an awards ceremony and pageant of the flags. The Lakeway Swim Center will be open from noon to 8 pm for a fun day of water activities. Admission to the pool is $3 per person. While there wont be any fireworks on display, you can still watch several fireworks shows all around Lake Travis.
Volente Beach Fireworks Show- Celebrate Independence Day one day early on Sunday, July 3rd, at the Volente Beach Waterpark on Lake Travis. The event is open to the public, but early reservations are encouraged for the best view of the fireworks over Lake Travis. Spend a day at the waterpark and stay late to catch the fireworks show, or join the party with live music at 7 pm. Entrance to the fireworks show is $8 per person.
Leander
Liberty Fest- Join Leander residents for Liberty Fest on Sunday, July 3rd, from 6 - 10 pm. Located on the grounds between San Gabriel Parkway and Hero Way, just west of Highway 183, enjoy a fun-filled day of games, lazer tag, an obstacle course, bounce houses, and food vendors. Texas musicians Kevin Fowler and the War Horses will headline the event. A professional fireworks show will light up the sky at around 9 pm.
Pflugerville
Pflugerville Pfirecracker Pfestival- Have tons of pfun with Pflugerville residents at this 4th of July celebration. Hosted on the south shore of Lake Pflugerville, the event kicks off at 6 pm. Visitors can enjoy live music, watercraft rental, a kids zone, and food and craft vendors. The fireworks show lights up at around 9 pm. The event is free for everyone.
Round Rock
Frontier Days Celebration- Round Rocks Independence Day celebration is jam-packed with exciting events. Start the day off with a parade through downtown Round Rock at 10 am, followed by the parks and recreation activity zone at 11 am with caricatures, face painting, and balloon artists. The festival opens at noon at Old Settlers Park. Exciting events include pig races, stunt performances, rubber duck race, pepper eating contest, and skydivers. Take in the dazzling fireworks starting after dark, and stay for a family-friendly movie in the park.
