This is the third year in a row Austin has hosted one of the biggest racing events in the world, the United States Grand Prix. This weekend, people from all over the country and the world will flock to Austin to see their favorite drivers compete in a world championship race. Last year, over 250,000 attendees came out to Circuit of the Americas for the Grand Prix, which was the highest attendance of any race in 2013. With so many exciting events and races planned for this weekend, you can bet that 2014 will top that record In addition to the Grand Prix race, fans can enjoy two thrilling support races- the Porsche Mobile 1 Supercup and Ferrari Challenge. Food vendors, sports bars and entertainment booths with Texas-themed activities will also be open to race fans all around the track. The whole weekend concludes with an exciting concert by Kid Rock

Throughout the weekend, Fan Fest will be open to everyone who wants to celebrate the Grand Prix racing event. This downtown Austin festival is free for everyone and features three stages of live music and four blocks of exciting activities the whole family can enjoy. Local and well-known artists will perform throughout the weekend, including Joan Jett amp; The Blackhearts, Black Joe Lewis, Dale Watson, Grupo Fantasma and Duran Duran. Karaoke, big glove boxing, a photo booth and a mechanical bull are just some of the activities fans can enjoy at Fan Fest. Events like a pumpkin patch, pumpkin carving, a haunted graveyard, ghost tours and a costume contest will also be open for fans on Halloween night. The festival will be held throughout the weekend on 4th Street in downtown Austin, between San Antonio Street and Congress Avenue. The festival hours are Friday from 5 pm - midnight, Saturday from noon - midnight, and Sunday from 11 am - 5 pm. For more information, check out the Fan Fest website.
