Every August we look forward to hanging out with trucking professionals at the Great American Trucking Show (GATS) in Dallas! There’s so much to see and do at the show, so we’ve put together this guide to GATS to make sure you don’t miss a moment of the action.

Landstar Health and Wellness Pavilion
Check that you’re in tip-top shape by visiting the Landstar Health and Wellness Pavilion. You can get free health screenings, healthy cooking tips, fitness ideas, and educational demos to help you stay fit on the road. At the health pavilion you can get a variety of assessments including heart, spine, eye, glucose, and kidney screenings. You can also participate in a blood drive and sign up for the bone marrow donor registration drive.
Learn about Products and Services
There are over 500 companies exhibiting at GATS this year. Walk around and ask lots of questions! Besides some free swag, you could find some new accessories for your truck and trailer, a cutting-edge new mobile app to make your life on the road easier, or find a company to help you take the next step in your career. New this year, the Discovery Pavilion will have an interactive for attendees to check out new products and equipment.

Free GATS Concert
Don’t miss a free concert from country singer John Michael Montgomery live on Friday, August 26 at the convention center. Rock out to hits like “I Swear,” and hear some great music from opening act, Tony Justice, a fellow trucker and singer-songwriter who sings about life on the open road.
2016 National Championship Finals for Overdrive’s Pride & Polish
“The road to Dallas is paved in chrome!” See the top winners of the Pride & Polish custom truck beauty contest at GATS. Winning trucks from shows across the country meet in Dallas to find out which will be named the National Champion. Be sure to check out this impressive collection of custom trucks.

Free Mammogram Screenings
The Trucking Solutions Group is sponsoring a mobile mammogram unit and providing free screenings to attendees of the show who don’t have insurance or can’t afford the screening. Last year they were able to provide 58 attendees with free screenings, which normally run $300! Donate here to support the cause on GoFundMe.
Fit for the Road 5K
Start your Saturday morning the right way by getting a workout in with your fellow truckers! Sign up for the Fit for the Road 5K Run/Walk race on Saturday, August 27 and enjoy a race through historic Fair Park in Dallas. The race starts at 7:00 a.m. and there are free shuttles from the Kay Bailey Hutchinson Convention Center at 6:00 a.m.

Attend educational seminars from the Texas Trucking Association and learn what you need to know about the upcoming ELD mandate, “How to Prepare for a Safety Review,” taxes for owner-operators, and more. Other vendors will also have seminars throughout the day, so be sure to check your program.
