PhD in Leadership and Change student, Nora Antoine has been awarded the 2013 Mellon Faculty Enhancement Doctoral Fellowship. Presented on behalf of the American Indian College Fund and Andrew W. Mellon Foundation Faculty Career Enhancement Program, the prestigious and competitive Mellon Fellowship is aimed to support work that retains and increases credentialed faculty within United States’ 36 Tribal Colleges and Universities (TCUs).
This fellowship will support Antoine’s upcoming program work focused on engagement of full-time faculty to explore professional relationships among TCU faculty. When asked about the impact of this research Antoine noted, “As a long-time faculty member, I hope this work will grow awareness about the benefit of faculty collegiality and expand faculty relationships beyond our individual University and ultimately, I hope this study’s outcome will have some benefit of our overall TCU network.”
Antoine is currently Chair and Professor of Business Education at Sinte Gleska University (SGU) in Mission, South Dakota. SGU is a member of the American Indian Higher Education Consortium, which is a community of tribally and federally chartered institutions working to strengthen tribal nations and impact the lives of American Indians and Alaska Natives.
