Have you seen the fall fashion runways? Although plaid seems to be a perpetual fall trend, the classic print is hotter than ever for the upcoming season.

This means in the days ahead you’ll start to see chic home accessories popping up stores that will be featuring tartan motifs.

I’m not the only one that thinks plaid will be hot. Retailer Target will be offering a collection from designer Adam Lippes this September. Target’s “Epic Plaid Takeover” campaign will feature 50 items decked in plaid from clothes and beauty supplies to pet accessories.

You could buy a throw or a pillow or two for décor but if you are really mad for plaid, take inspiration from the remodeled Brunschwig & Fils NY Showroom.

Here the signature Brunschwig plaid is created with marble floor tile. The large-scale elevates the pattern from cozy to elegant chic.

Plaid flooring also works on a smaller scale. I found this small bath on Pinterest featuring AKDO Balmoral tile. I think the tile floor is the best thing about this space.

If subtle is not your thing, this shower will surely inspire you. This mosaic tile, also from AKDO, really adds style to this otherwise common bathroom space.  I like how the plaid continues as the splash behind the vanity.  It’s perfect for a bachelor pad.

If you’re not quite ready to commit to a permanent surface, changing drapery is a great way to feature a new style or trend. This plaid is beautiful paired with metal accents.

Plaids today are not the red and green patterns from years ago. They are inspired by menswear and are modern. Today’s plaid is a contemporary look that converses with savoir-faire.
