The latest issue of The London Society Journal features
an article on the restructuring of civic infrastructure in Bankside by Artur Carulla.

Titled ‘A viaduct, a sewer and a powerplant’, Artur elaborates on the historic role of three infrastructure interventions and their unintended consequences in creating the neighbourhood today, with the contributions of the Low Line (viaduct), Southwark Street (sewer) and the Tate Modern (powerplant) to Bankside’s lively character. The piece expands on Artur’s talk at last year’s Citymakers autumn conference, where Bankside was discussed as an example of organic urban redevelopment.

The practice has completed a number of projects in Bankside, including our own studios, Bankside 123, the Crane Building, 67 Southwark Street and we are currently working on schemes at nearby Ewer Street and Landmark Court.
