The
Galway City Centre Public Realm Strategy prepared by Allies and Morrison has
won a 2020 Irish Planning Institute Design Award. The strategy was nominated in
two categories, the Design and Public Participation & Engagement categories.

Our
work sets out a vision for improvements to guide investment and development of this
historic city’s public realm in the future, based on ideas shared in extensive public
consultation events. It looks to further previously taken steps, such as
creating a pedestrianised zone, investment in the Fishmarket and Eyre Square
and the opening of the riverside walk.
