Did you guys know you can get an iced flat white?
I felt like something cold today. I’m not exactly sure why, as it is still below freezing on the regular in my beloved Chi-town. But an iced beverage was just calling my name, so I asked if they could do the Flat White iced. If you want to get technical about it and really break down the beverage, I could’ve just asked for an ‘iced triple grande whole milk latte w/the single origin ristretto shots.’ But now that I think about it that way and typed it all out, that’s quite a mouthful. I like to be low maintenance when I can be, and an ‘iced flat white’ rolls off the tongue much easier. Plus, Sharon, my new favorite barista in my lobby Starbucks even topped it with foam. She’s a gem.
I know my last post was also about a Flat White, but I am officially addicted to this beverage. Between the smooth ristretto and the whole milk, it’s just the perfect start to my day. And I don’t know if I’ll ever be able to go back to non-whole milk in my coffee. Just thinking about it makes me shudder. It’s so much creamier and flavorful! I had a friend in college who would exclusively drink whole milk, and I thought he was crazy. I was raised on 100% skim milk, after all, and no one could tell me that there was a whole world (pun intended) just waiting for me to discover it. I think I might owe that friend an apology…
