Sinje-Swala Buschmann (46) recently became the head of BNP Paribas Real Estate’s retail leasing team in Hamburg. As Director Retail Advisory, she will be primarily responsible for contact with owners and tenants in prime locations in the Hanseatic city and in a region encompassing Schleswig-Holstein, Lower Saxony, and Bremen. She and her team will also further promote BNP Paribas Real Estate’s retail activities. The fully-qualified lawyer and certified shopping center manager has been with the real estate service provider since March 2014, most recently as associate director of the regional retail department. Buschmann has worked as a consultant for the retail sector for over 15 years: Prior to joining BNP Paribas Real Estate, she worked for the retail specialist Lührmann, where she specialized in brokering real estate deals in the center of Hamburg. Her focus was on brokering retail space in top locations, monitoring project developments, analyzing locations and objects, and appraising properties, among other things. She was previously responsible for the areas of Hamburg, Schleswig-Holstein, and Lower Saxony at Comfort for eight years. Her career as a rental broker began at Grossmann & Berger in 2000.

CBRE GLOBAL INVESTORS, RIK EERTING

CBRE Global Investors has announced the appointment of Rik Eertink as Fund Manager of the CBRE Dutch Retail Fund (DRET). Eertink, who joined CBRE Global Investors in 2004, is currently the Country Manager for the Nordics and Fund Manager of the CBRE Nordic Property Fund. He began the role on April 1, 2016, and will relocate back to the Netherlands to head the strong existing Dutch retail team. As part of the transition, Eerting will continue as NPF’s Fund Manager. Pieter Hendrikse, CEO EMEA, CBRE Global Investors, commented: “Rik’s track record in leadership, combined with his hands-on real estate experience, means he is well-placed to lead DRET, which is one of our priority funds in Europe.” Eerting succeeds Jaap Demoed, the current Fund Manager of DRET, who will retire after 25 years of service with the company. “We would like to thank Jaap for his long service and contribution to the continuing success of DRET. He leaves following the recent restructuring of the fund, which has put the fund in good stead for its next phase of development. On behalf of the company, I wish him an enjoyable retirement,” said Hendrikse.

COLLIERS INTERNATIONAL, SABINE SCHULZ

Sabine Schulz has been the new Head of Retail Letting Germany at the real estate consulting company Colliers International since early March. The 47-year-old graduate in business administration previously worked at JLL as an Associate Director and in the management team at Lührmann Munich. Schulz began her career in leasing retail space, especially in the high-street segment, at Kemper’s in 2000. Achim Degen, Managing Director of Colliers International in Germany, said: “We are delighted to have gained an experienced expert in retail who will be with us in Munich and beyond to raise our flag in this important market segment. Sabine Schulz has distinguished herself with over 15 years of market experience in retail properties and will lead retail rental at Colliers and consistently expand the segment.”

EUROCOMMERCIAL, ROBERTO FRATICELLI

Eurocommercial announced the appointment of Roberto Fraticelli as Director of Italian operations, succeeding Tim Santini, who will leave the Company at the end of June. Santini has been of major importance to Eurocommercial over the last 21 years, particularly in Italy, where he has been responsible for the Company’s first-class portfolio of malls and a highly-rated team of people to manage them. Fraticelli joined Eurocommercial in 1998 and has played a significant role in the acquisition of the majority of its Italian assets and in structuring their funding. The 44-year-old has degrees in economics (Luiss University, Rome) and political science (Amsterdam University), as well as an Executive MBA (Rotterdam School of Management). He is a chartered surveyor, a committee member for the CNCC (Italian Council of Shopping Centers) and EPRA (European Public Real Estate Association), and President of the “Committee for EU Relations” for Assoimmobiliare (Italian Real Estate Association). He will be based in Milan, where the Company has a team of 30 people responsible for its 12 shopping centers. Chief Executive Jeremy Lewis commented, “I am extremely pleased that Roberto has accepted the challenge of succeeding Tim. He has been an integral part of our team over the past 18 years and was the clear choice for this role. His considerable experience and knowledge of the property sector will ensure the ongoing success of our Italian business.”

IMMOCHAN, MARCO BALDUCCI

Immochan has strengthened its Management Committee: Marco Balducci was named Finance and Asset Management Director of one of Europe’s leading commercial real estate businesses. The 47-year-old has a Masters in Jurisprudence and a Doctorate in Commercial Law. He worked in a law firm before joining Rinascente (Milan) in 2000 as a Corporate Legal Manager. He joined Auchan Italy as a Corporate Service Manager in 2005, where he launched the employee stock ownership plan and managed partnerships and transfers. In 2009, he moved to France as a Corporate Legal Manager for Groupe Auchan, before becoming the Legal Director there in 2011. Balducci is one of the architects of strategic partnerships and purchases (Real, Système U, etc.) and of the reorganization of Groupe Auchan that gave birth to three independent companies (Auchan Retail, Oney, and Immochan).

NEINVER, JOAN MANUEL MAS

Neinver has announced the appointment of Joan Manuel Mas as Manager of Viladecans The Style Outlets. From his new position, he will be responsible for managing, coordinating, and supervising the activity of the scheme. Mas has over 12 years of experience in the retail sector and has managed several shopping malls throughout Spain. With 19,800 sq m of GLA, Viladecans The Style Outlets will become a hub of commercial revitalization, job creation, and tourist attraction in Catalonia. Located just 15 minutes from Barcelona and 10 from the airport and the cruise port terminal, it has a catchment area of 7 million people in a region with a very low density of outlet centers. Forecasts suggest the center will receive 2.7 million visitors in its first year after opening, of which around 20% will be tourists.

PRELIOS, GREGOR BÖHME

Prelios Investment Management, Prelios’s investment arm in Germany, is strengthening its Frankfurt investment team, headed Nico Tates: The lawyer Gregor Böhme took over the position of Head of Acquisitions on May 1. The 43-year-old served previously, among other things, as a Senior Asset Manager at Morgan Stanley Real Estate Funds in Amsterdam, as a portfolio manager at DIC Asset AG in Frankfurt, and in acquisitions at Immofinanz AG in Vienna. Böhme studied law at Ludwig Maximilian University, Munich, the London School of Economics, and the University of Marburg, and philosophy at the London School of Economics. Nico Tates, Head of Investment Management and CEO of Prelios in Germany alongside Martin Mörl and Andrea Boeri, said: “Gregor Böhme will reinforce our investment team in Frankfurt with his extensive market knowledge. His main focus includes the identification and acquisition of real estate for the planned Prelios retail property fund and for the ‘Separate Account Investment Management.’ The target regions of funds for institutional investors are mainly West German cities with a catchment area of at least 100,000 people and Berlin, of course.”

Renata Nowakowska was appointed Innovation Manager at Skanska Property Poland. Prior to joining Skanska, she had been HR Partner supporting both Polish and Czech HR teams. Green and intelligent solutions, mobile applications, virtual reality, and beacons are all innovations that are changing the real estate market. They are one of the most significant engines for the industry. Skanska Property Poland places strong emphasis on this issue and makes sure that it remains a constant element of its business. The company has thus decided to introduce a new role into its structures—an Innovation Manager, who is responsible for developing innovations in numerous organizational dimensions. Nowakowska has now filled this position.

Johanna Metsä-Tokila has been appointed SRV Group Plc’s SVP, General Counsel, and a member of the Corporate Executive Team as of June 1, 2016. Before SRV, the 39-year-old worked in legal affairs at OP Wealth Management as a lawyer responsible for real estate investment and also served in various positions in SRV Group’s legal department between 2003 and 2014. “Johanna Metsä-Tokila is an experienced professional in real estate legal affairs who has diverse work experience in both the building industry and in real estate investment. SRV currently has solid positive momentum and a number of interesting projects under way that require a high level of legal expertise. Johanna will complement in an excellent way our already highly-skilled legal department and will certainly bring new thinking and vision to the handling of issues and processes,” said SRV President & CEO Juha Pekka Ojala.

Warburg-HIH Invest Real Estate GmbH has opened its own offices in France and Spain and is giving itself a boost with two real estate experts with local expertise in the two markets. The trained economist Dominique Dudan (left photo) will lead the business in France as a Managing Director for Warburg-HIH Invest in its own branch in Paris. She has almost 20 years of experience in the real estate industry and is a Fellow of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors. Dudan was previously President of Union Investment Real Estate France for four and a half years and spent three years as president of a major private equity family office. In addition, she was active in senior positions at HSBC Reim, BNP Paribas, and Accor Hotel & Resorts. Benita von Meding of Lüneburg will head Warburg-HIH Invest’s new office in Madrid. From Meding also has about 20 years of experience in real estate with a focus on expansions and transactions in Spain. She has held various positions in the segment, among others for Union Investment Real Estate, Bavaria Bankgesellschaft, and for the specialized shopping center service provider Property Consulting Team.

Wisag Security & Service Holding GmbH & Co. KG is under new management: Andreas Burmeister has been responsible for the affairs of the Germany-wide security service since May 1, 2016. Eduard C. Kutyma, formerly the Managing Director of the Security Division, has shifted to the field of aviation, where he manages Wisag Aviation Service Holding GmbH. Burmeister is an industry insider. The 50-year-old has held leading positions in security for over 25 years. In addition to the classic palette of services, he has encouraged customers to place greater emphasis on IT security, among other things. “We are very pleased to have Andreas Burmeister on board for this task,” said Ralf Hempel, CEO of Wisag. “With his in-depth experience in security services and technology, he will continue to develop our division successfully and can provide important impetus for its further expansion.”

Christian Zimmermann became the new Head of Shopping Center Management at Unibail-Rodamco Germany on May 1, 2016. He succeeds Agathe Lang, who held the position from 2014 and is moving back to Unibail-Rodamco France. In his new role, Zimmermann will be responsible for all the management activities of the 25 centers currently in the company’s portfolio. The business graduate has been active in the company since 2008. He held a number of functions as a Center Manager, among others in Dusseldorf and in the prestigious 4-star center Pasing Arcaden in Munich. He has been at Lang’s side as Deputy Head of Shopping Center Management since 2014. “We are pleased that we have found a highly experienced person for this position who knows not only the industry, but also our company, very well,” commented Olivier Nougarou, CEO of Unibail-Rodamco Germany.
