The new shopping attraction in the historical Eyüp district of the Turkish metropolis Istanbul, near the historical peninsula, celebrates its premiere: Axis Istanbul shopping center, a joint project of Sur Yapı and Hayat Holding, has opened its doors this morning with 135 specialty stores, cafés and restaurants, terraces, a food court with a seating capacity for 1,400 people, a large kids’ playground, a cinema with 10 halls and a fitness center. The first construction phase of the shopping center comprises a GLA of 40,000 sq m. After the completion of the second phase, the GLA will be increased to 60.000 sq m which will then house 170 shops. The center will create 2,000 new jobs. Axis Istanbul is situated in a central location and can be accessed conveniently: Its car park with 1,000 parking spaces is directly accessible from all major highways by a brand-new connection road.
Axis Istanbul is designed as a multi-functional living complex. On top of the shopping center, 195 A-Plus offices will accommodate approximately 1,500 employees. The investment partners of the project are Sur Yapı, which is one of the leading entities in real estate, contracting and energy sectors, and Hayat Holding, one of the biggest exporters and industrial enterprises of Turkey that conducts business in more than 100 countries. The total investment volume of the mixed-use project amounts to approximately 485 million euros. ECE Türkiye has been responsible for the concept optimization and is in charge of the leasing and the long-term management of the shopping center.
