The recently inaugurated Department of Biophysics at The University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center invites applications for tenure-track faculty positions at the level of assistant professor. We seek outstanding candidates who study molecular mechanisms of biological processes, in vitro or in vivo, using physical and quantitative approaches. We particularly encourage applications from those with backgrounds in single-molecule spectroscopy or quantitative imaging, but are interested in all excellent candidates regardless of technical approach. Scientists within the Department of Biophysics participate in a vibrant, interdisciplinary, interdepartmental, and highly collaborative research community within the University, and enjoy unparalleled access to state-of-the-art research cores in X-ray crystallography, macromolecular NMR spectroscopy, molecular biophysics, cellular imaging, protein chemistry and high-throughput screening.

Applicants should submit a curriculum vitae, a concise description of previous research accomplishments and future plans (3 page limit) and three letters of reference by October 31, 2013 to http://academicjobs online.org. You may email questions to BiophysicsSearch@UTSouthwestern.edu. Attention: Michael Rosen, Chair, Biophysics Faculty Search Committee, U.T. Southwestern Medical Center, 5323 Harry Hines Blvd., Dallas, TX 75390-8816.

UT Southwestern Medical Center is an Affirmative Action/Equal Opportunity Employer. Women, minorities, veterans and individuals with disabilities are encouraged to apply.
