Faculty Position in Spacecraft Engineering Cornell University The SIBLEY
SCHOOL OF MECHANICAL AND AEROSPACE ENGINEERING AT CORNELL UNIVERSITY,
Ithaca, New York invites applications for a tenure-track faculty
position in the field of Aerospace Engineering, with an emphasis on
space technology. Candidates must hold a doctorate in an appropriate
field and are expected to establish an outstanding, funded research
program as well as to contribute fully to both undergraduate and
graduate instruction. Applicants at the level of Assistant Professor
are preferred, but appointments at the Associate Professor level will
be considered. Salary and rank will be commensurate with
qualifications and experience. We seek outstanding individuals engaged
in computational, theoretical and/or experimental research in
spacecraft engineering. Areas of interest include estimation and GPS,
space structures and structural dynamics, human spaceflight,
propulsion, space mission analysis and architectures, and
astrodynamics. A key objective of this search is to build stronger
connections between Aerospace Engineering and the departments of
Astronomy and Earth & Atmospheric Sciences. Applicants should have
strong depth and ties to one or more of the Sibley School’s
disciplines, e.g., dynamics and control, systems engineering, fluid
dynamics, thermal sciences, theoretical and applied mechanics, and

interact with a number of programs across the university, including
the Carl Sagan Institute, the Center for Radiophysics and Space
Research, Cornell Center for Astrophysics and Planetary Science, the
Space Science and Plasma Physics research group, the Cornell NanoScale
Science & Technology Facility, the Cornell Center for Materials
Research, the Cornell High Energy Synchrotron Source, and the Space
