Safran.AI and ICEYE have announced a long-term strategic partnership to develop multisensor artificial intelligence (AI) solutions aimed at supporting government decision-making in geospatial intelligence. The collaboration combines Safran.AI’s expertise in vision AI with ICEYE’s experience operating a commercial Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) satellite constellation.
SAR satellite imagery enables object detection and classification regardless of time of day or weather, making it useful for defense and intelligence applications, including military activity monitoring. ICEYE’s SAR satellite constellation offers 25 cm resolution, frequent revisit rates, and image delivery within a few hours.
Artificial intelligence on the battlefield has a major impact on strategic and tactical levels. It accelerates the intelligence cycle by processing information in near real time and by extracting the most critical insights for time-sensitive operators.
This partnership will elevate Safran.AI’s capabilities in SAR imagery to unprecedented levels. Combined with its cutting-edge AI expertise in electro-optical satellite imagery, its new multi-modal AI solutions will enhance global persistent monitoring, enabling governments to make faster and more informed decisions.
This announcement builds on the existing collaboration between ICEYE and Safran, with Safran currently supplying ICEYE with space-to-ground link solutions to support the transmission of high-resolution imagery.
