Zurich Global Energy is currently looking for an Onshore Property Underwriter in our Houston office\. Zurich’s Global Energy Group specializes in providing comprehensive energy risk solutions, risk engineering services and claims support tailored to the individual needs of oil and gas, petrochemical, natural resources, mining and power generation customers virtually worldwide\.
Our Global Energy Onshore Property Underwriter is responsible for:
1\. Underwriting and analyzing new and renewal on\-shore Property business, and marketing Global Energy products and services through our brokerage community or the region\. Lines of business include Energy, Power Generation, Oil, Gas, Petrochemical and Mining\.
2\. Market facing and production for the South Region\.
3\. Administering and monitoring underwriting rules and guidelines, insurance laws and regulations and rating manual rules\.
4\. Marketing Zurich's products and services through an agency or brokerage community and developing/maintaining the most significant agency and broker relationships\.
Basic Qualifications:
\* 2 years of Underwriting, Broker or Professional Business experience
\* Demonstrated technical knowledge and skills reflective of progression of positions of increasing responsibility\.
Preferred Qualifications:
\*Bachelor’s Degree Preferred
\* Knowledge of Energy, Power Generation, Oil, Gas, Petrochemical and Mining are nice to have\.
\* Knowledge of underwriting philosophy, techniques, national/local filing regulations and guidelines\.
\* Ability to effectively assess risk\.
\* Possess knowledge of time restraints for quotes on new and renewal business\.
\*Superior skills in relationship building, active listening, needs analysis, and win\-win negotiating\.
\* Strong negotiation skills
\* Strong presentation skills and a solutions and service orientation\.
\* Strong verbal and written communication skills\.
\* Strong PC and related software skills
