News readers have taken Harare preacher prophet Emmanuel Makandiwa to task over his prediction at the beginning of the year that Zimbabwe is going to have solid gold bulging out of the ground everywhere in the country.
At the beginning of 2013, Makandiwa in a special new years’ oracle twelve months ago, spoke to his church members saying: ”The Lord is setting Zimbabwe free. Divine solutions are coming. The Lord told me ‘Tell Zimbabweans to change their focus.’ Everyone is saying diamonds, diamonds, but I see another precious mineral for Zimbabwe . . . gold will be picked up from the ground. Mysteriously gold will be appearing everywhere. As I was praying I saw a wind blowing and I saw gold coming to the surface. People are going to be picking up gold without any drilling. You know what they say about the water table? One has to dig first before accessing water, but with this one there is no drilling needed. Those people who have been looked down upon will be picking up gold like they are picking up stones. The Lord told me ‘This is for my people’,” said the UFIC spiritual father to wild applause.
Gold claim challenged…Makandiwa
With barely 23 days left to the end of the year, news readers have since taken Makandiwa to task over his utterances.
“This same Makandiwa prophesied that there would be gold everywhere in the country, so where is the gold since the year is ending,?, questioned one Mary Gutu.
She was backed by several other inquirers.But according to Pastor Victor Musemi, Makandiwa’s message was misunderstood.
“Gold can mean anything, ” it could mean wisdom and that is quite likely what prophet was trying to get at.
Another reader os social networking portal Mugrade7 Facebook page, one Simbarashe Manjemanje moved to defend Makandiwa saying he never stated this would happen in 2013:
“He did not say in 2013 hey, some of the prophecies takes long to pass……moreover do you know that its possible kuti muvengi avhiringe kuda kwaMwari…..God wanted you to choose life on the 31st of July but you decided to choose death, yah enjoy the fruits of your choice. The will of people against that of God.”
Another Facebooker, Patience Munda also defended Makandiwa writing in her place: “People have become so impatient they want breakthroughs at the touch of a button and they believe only miracles they c with their eyes . Therefore the devil has taken advantage of this and littered the globe with his agents masquerading as Men of God. Beware for the end is nigh!”
