The trial of Gokwe- Nembudziya  member of parliament, Justice Mayor Wadyajena who is accused of insulting a fellow Zanu PF  party member failed to kick off after the key witnesses in the matter failed to turn up

The outspoken Wadyajena is facing charges of  disorderly conduct after allegedly insulting Lettina Undenge, wife to Energy and Power Development Minister Samuel Undenge during last years Zanu PF National Peoples Conference in Victoria Falls

The Prosecutor, Listen Nare told the court that the police had failed to serve two witnesses , Undenge and Obvious Khumalo adding that no explanation had been given by the police despite the obvious fact that both the minister and Khumalo were of a fixed abode.The criminal justice system has in recent days come under fire for incompetence and ineptitude

Defence Counsel, Givemore Muvhiringi said it was prejudicial to the accused to contunously be on remand as he had to travel from Harare.

The controversial Wadyajena who also heads the parliamentary portfolio committe on Youth, Indigenisation and Economic Empowerment was facing two counts of of criminal insult but the fisrt charge was dropped after the complainant withdrew the the charges

Wadyajena has been a thorn in the flesh of fellow Zanu pf members during the portfolio committee’s session chief among them former indeginisation mister and Zanu pf national commisar Saviour Kasukuwere prompting the embattled Local government minister’s supporters to accuse Wadyajena of using his position in the committee to settle personal scores

Catfights have become the norm in the ruling Robert Mugabe led party as members have been at each other’s throats due to a raging succession battle pitting vice president , Emmerson Mnangagwa ‘s Lacoste group and the Grace Mugabe fronted G40

Victoria Falls  magistrate Rangarirai Gakanje who is handling the case deferred the case to the 24th of January 2017  for trial.
