**Business Unit** Automotive Staff - Purchasing
**Job Description** Launch programs, material conversions, technology changes or cost eduction/VMT items on time and to business case. Launch new programs on time and to bill of material. Manage timeline for supplied components. Manage open issues with the team. Track bill of material cost from actual. Work with supplier development engineers to manage timing for APQP, confirm completion of critical APQP elements, Design Reviews, Launch Readiness Reviews and Safe Launch Plans. Work with program teams to communicate issue to purchasing team. Complete process improvement or special projects as assigned. Support implementation of commodity strategy and low cost country initiatives. Confirm capacity on programs. Apply basic purchasing procedures. Support tool moves and resourcing efforts. May work collaboratively with more senior NPI role in performance of above job responsibilities.
**Education Requirements** Bachelor degree required. Prefer course of study in purchasing/supply chain or relevant engineering discipline.
**Experience and Skill Requirements**
0-3 years of relevant work experience. Must have advanced skills in Excel and be proficient in other software programs (Word, Powerpoint) and familiarity with SAP, QAD or Maxim, and Program management basic procedures. Product Line basic technical knowledge. Strong organizational, motivational and good communication skills. Solid analytical and interpersonal skills. Must be able to influence suppliers as well as internal customers to achieve expectations related to cost, quality and timing. Ability to read, and comprehend technical documents (drawings, specs, engineering changes, etc).
