The Porsche Cayman can be considered as one of the nimblest and agile Porsches you can drive. Sure, it may not have the outright power the 911 has, but through corners, the Cayman shines. And to prove that point, Porsche has thrown a new 2014 Porsche Cayman GTS on a small and tight go-kart track in northern Italy to show how capable the Cayman GTS is.
The Porsche Cayman GTS (Top of the range, mind you), comes standard with a 6 speed manual transmission, while the Porsche’s 7 speed dual-clutch PDK is a cost option. Both variants will offer the driver 340hp on the tap, but the PDK variant is 0.1 of a second faster than the manual variant to complete the century sprint, at 4.5 seconds. The manual variant, however, nudges slightly ahead, with a top speed of 285km/h, versus the PDK’s 283km/h top speed. Power comes from a 3.4L flat six-cylinder engine, and all power goes to the rear wheels.
The Cayman GTS comes standard with Bi-Xenon headlights, new 20″ Carrera S rims and a more aggressive aero kit. Potential owners would be pleased to know that the Sports Chrono Package is included as standard on the Cayman GTS.
