Mitsubishi has been playing in the safe side for these couple of years, and so far there are no immediate signs of them coming out with something sporty like their world-renowned Lancer Evolution. With that being said, Mitsubishi UK has decided to break the silence and came out with a more powerful version of the Evo X, the FQ-440 MR.

Made to celebrate Mitsubishi’s 40th anniversary in the UK, this new Lancer Evolution X FQ-440 MR will come with a price tag of USD 82,700 (RM 272,413) and only 40 such examples will be made exclusively for the UK.

Offered only in Frost White, the FQ-440 features a number of upgrades throughout the whole car. The modifications under the hood include an ECU remap, a Janspeed exhaust system, intake and intercooler piping kit, and an HKS turbocharger that helps the 2.0-liter engine to push out an impressive 440-horsepower at 6,800rpm and a peak torque of 412 lb-ft at 3,100rpm.

But those are not the only goodies thrown into the FQ-440. Stopping power is provided by a set of Alcon braking system fitted nicely behind the 18-inch BBS alloy wheels, and the car now rides 35mm lower in the front and 30mm for the rear with the Eibach springs.

“The Lancer Evolution has always been a halo model for Mitsubishi and this special edition is no exception. More powerful than ever before and with a very limited availability, it will be a ‘must have’ for all die-hard Evolution fans!” said Lance Bradley, Managing Director for Mitsubishi Motors UK.
