Aeropostale introduced the group of dashing young men and sassy young women who embody the Aéropostale lifestyle — casual and laid back yet chic and trendy—when they launched their store in Ayala Center Cebu in the second quarter of this year.
Get to know some of the personalities that make up the Aéropostale Cebu Style League.
Reona Ido, who plays soccer and basketball for Cebu International School as a varsity player for both sports, describes her personal style as bohemian, preppy and edgy. This fifteen-year old Yellow Boat of Hope volunteer is into sports, as well as more relaxed activities such as painting, sketching, reading and baking, thus the charm of Aéropostale apparel to her.
“I love the overall feel of the store and how easy it is to find things that I like such as the hoodies, leggins, skirts, dresses, sportswear, bikinis and more. Super comfortable and I can wear them for most occasions,” she shares.

Basketball player, karter and model John Tristan “JT” Gullas is a shorts and T-shirt, loafers kind of guy. He likes to wear casual and comfortable outfit for our tropical weather. Aéropostale t-shirt designs appeal to him and he finds the sports clothes interesting.

A debate champion, being the Captain of the Springdale Debate Team, and a current member of Team Philippines for the World Schools Debate Championship, with numerous trophies in various debate contests to show for his skills, Mikkel Neri, balances his love for this intellectual sport by playing football when he has the chance. He defined his personal style as simple but elegant. He enjoys shopping in Aéropostale as “It has a wide array of choices for clothes for everyday use.”
Soccer player, budding artist and model Gabi Woolbright Darza likes to wear shorts and long sleeves, basic dresses, skirts and tank tops thus the charm of Aéropostale apparel to her. “The styles are basic yet lovely.” she quips. This extemporaneous speech winner is also into water skiing, basketball and hiking.

Alex Osmena doesn’t only have the heart for basketball and volleyball, but for volunteerism, as well. He has been active in helping Yolanda typhoon victims in Daan Bantayan. It’s no surprise as he is the perpetual island boy, enjoying fishing, boating, and island hopping on his spare time, when he is not busy living the typical life of a sixteen-year old. He wears Aéropostale for their shirts that are simplistic, but classic and versatile in design, an ongoing trend for the young. He is a smart, casual guy so he is a definite fit for the brand.

Like the other Aéropostale Style League girls, fifteen-year old Ileana Osmena, is an active sports enthusiast. She juggles being an academic awardee with being a basketball and soccer player, and successfully stays on top of her game at both. Proof of her sports prowess is winning the all-ISAC (International Schools Activities Conference) award as the Most Valuable Player (MVP). As someone who prefers casual and relaxed clothing, her affinity to Aéropostale’s no-fuss style which is also due to the country’s tropical weather with the brand offerings pieces that are ideal for the tropics.

Fifteen-year old Katalin Ugarte may look all sweet and dainty but she plays a mean game of tennis and is an avid jetskiier. This Cebu International School student, when not in the beach looking for things of value and interest, goes out with friends to watch movies or go shopping. Thus, she prefers casual and comfortable clothes that can freely move in.
“Aéropostale’s clothes are nice, comfortable, and suitable for my age,” Katalin says when asked about what she likes most about the brand.

The other Aeropostale Style Leaguers are boxing and yoga enthusiast Alyssa Sacal, future architect, scuba diver and ballerina Arisa Onozawa, no.4 ranked Tennis Player in the Philippines in the Girls-16 under category Jana Pages, Chemistry graduate and corporate executive Nicole Li, Miss Cesafi 2013, soccer mid-fielder and student council secretary Nikki Tilka, varsity soccer team captain and volleyball player Phoebe Smith, multi-awarded Autocross racer and sports enthusiast David Lim Jr., basketball and soccer varsity player and ‘well-rounded student’ awardee James Lotzof, Cebu’s four-timer karter of the year and Macao Grand Prix Asian Karting Open Champion Jette Calderon, student council president, accomplished debater and budding artist Julian Cobonpue, architecture student and former Philippine Wall-Climbing Champion non-teen league Kenzo Canizares, school leader, entrepreneur and altruist Marcko Durano, and United Football League player Tom Booth.
