Our Client- A global diamond mining leader with open pit operations in Southern Africa, are currently recruiting for an Asset Management Engineer Systems to join their team.
Job Description- To manage the Group Asset Management systems and processes to ensure optimal achievement of the business objectives aligned to the strategic business plan.
Candidate Requirements-
Engineering degree in the disciplines Electrical, Electronic and/or Mechanical
SAP Certification required
Specific course material around RCM, Risk Management, Oracle etc. highly desirable
8 years Asset Management engineering experience, of which 3 years should have been at Management level and directly involved with the Asset Management System opencast mining industry
Industry experience outside the mining industry will be a distinct advantage

Key Activities
Analyses the function’s financial needs to develop a budget and ensure sufficient financial resources to meet business needs.
Manages and controls allocated funds and operates within approved parameters.
Interprets and develops the Groups medium and long term Asset Management Systems strategy to meet the business objectives.
Derives Asset Management functional needs and maintenance strategies from Group Strategy.
Identifies, adopts and facilitates the implementation of international best practices.
Develops implements and manages the Asset Management Systems Governance Framework.
Facilitates the development, implementation and monthly tracking of a data-based budget for the entire Engineering function.
Defines and develops Asset Management Systems standards, quality control and assurance to ensure alignment of information management systems and technical processes to asset management code of practice.
Manages the design, development and implementation of the relevant data bases and conducts regular data validation/audits to ensure data integrity.
Manages the implementation and benefits tracking of asset management initiatives and assesses opportunities to improve operational systems in line with Asset Management standards.
Identifies and manages the acquisition, deployment and on-going support of Asset Management information management tools to enhance business decision making.
Manages and coordinates the execution of the Asset Management System Governance Model.
Coordinates and integrates multiple interfaces with the Asset Management System.
Develops asset management procedures and integrates the new strategies with existing practices and protocols.
Identifies and manages the implementation of and compliance to legal and corporate governance principles/requirements.
Identifies, by Pareto analysis, medium to long term divisional projects to meet set objectives.
Manages subordinate’s key effectiveness areas by setting, monitoring and reviewing targets and taking remedial action as necessary.
Responsible for the definition and compliance monitoring of safety, health and environment.
Monitors the competence requirements of the entire Asset Management function.
Provides the framework for application of Engineering Information Management to ensure effective knowledge capture, quality control, exchange and adaptation.
Provides the framework for identification and implementation of creative and innovative ideas and processes to ensure continuous business improvements.
Manages the balance between governance and service provision for identified clients, engineering leadership and indirectly Operational Management.
