It’s going to be M-Town stars vs. ‘Ulaganayagan’ Kamal Hassan now…On the one hand the earlier releases – Mohanlal’s ‘Ennum Eppozhum’, Mammootty’s ‘Bhaskar the Rascal’ and the Vishu hit ‘Oru Vadakkan Selfie’, starring Nivin Pauly, Vineeth Sreenivasan and Aju Varghese in key roles, still continue to run at various centres all across Kerala. On the other hand Dileep’s ‘Chandrettan Evideya’, Kavya Madhavan-Anoop Menon starrer ‘She Taxi’ and Kunchacko Boban-Rima Kallingal-Sreenivasan starrer ‘Chirakodinja Kinavukal’ hit screens on May 1. Along with these films, the Kamal Hassan starrer ‘Uttama Villain’, directed by Ramesh Aravind, too gets released all over Kerala. So, who’s going to top the list, finally?
Well, that ‘Oru Vadakkan Selfie’ is a winner at the box office is an undisputed fact. The film continues sort of a dream run all over Kerala while the other Vishu releases continue to elicit mixed responses. The May 1 releases in Malayalam too have bright prospects, all of them being entertainers. The fact however remains that Kamal Hassan has always had his sway on the Kerala box office. The ‘Ulaganayagan’ has an enviable kind of popularity in Kerala too. Thus from May 1, the Mollywood stars are pitted against ‘Ulaganayagan’ Kamal Hassan too. And also in the fray are Mani Ratnam’s Dulquer Salman-Nithya Menen starrer ‘O Kadhal Kanmani’ and the Raghava Lawrence movie ‘Kanchana 2’, both of which are going smooth at the box office in Kerala…
The final picture however would be clear in a few days…Let’s wish all these films success at the box office….
