(Scroll down for video) A man and his family are overwhelmed with joy after receiving $10,000 from the new president to help their father who has cancer.

24-year-old Shane Bouvet was invited to the inaugural concert at the Lincoln Memorial.

He received a VIP ticket that was signed by Donald Trump. He was also invited to meet the president backstage.

Bouvet, who is a FedEx driver of Illinois, became a Trump campaign volunteer after many people in his community in Stonington, which has about 800 residents, lost their jobs.

Bouvet decided to volunteer because he believes that Trump will help blue collar people like himself.

While he was backstage, President Trump spoke to Bouvet’s father, who is battling cancer. Trump told Bouvet’s father to reach out to him if he needs anything.

Trump then gave Bouvet $10,000 to help his family with their mounting bills.
