Just dropping in to let you know Bonjour Quilts has had a little freshen-up the past few days, so if you’re seeing this through a feed you should pop over and have a look around. Tell me what you think! (A big thank you to Teresa of The Simpler Web for the new look.)
I’ve been sewing up a storm and have just finished drafting my third pattern. I can’t wait to get it out to testers and then into the shop. It was a treat to use Carolyn Friedlander’s Doe in my sample.
My Doe leftovers have been sewn into a fun little mini called True North, from Peta of She Quilts Alot. The True North mini also has a maxi version, and you can find both in Peta’s pattern shop. (You should check out her brand new blog too if you haven’t already. She has a great Easter tutorial up already.)
Next up, I’ll be making a Bob Bag so I can join in Angie at Gnome Angel’s Bob-a-long. The Bob Bag is one of Quilt Jane’s latest patterns and I think it will be the perfect container for all my hand binding bits and pieces. At the moment I carry them in a metal tin and it makes an infernal racket whenever I move it about, so a fabric version will do me very nicely.

While you’re over at Jane’s have a quick peek at this beautiful paper-pieced cushion she made with Sara Lawson’s Fantasia line. Not too shabby, Jane!
I got some real mail today – it was my order of Krista from Poppyprint’s new book.
Make it, Take it is a collaborative effort between Krista and lots of the lovely people she gets to sew with on quilting retreats. There are plenty of fun sewing projects in the book and I’m pretty sure I’m going to need at least two of these scissor holders:
And one (perhaps both?) of these totes.
Time’s drawing close for the 2015 Pantone Quilt Challenge. This year’s colour is Marsala and I ain’t got much love for it, which is surprising given it seems to be a blend of chocolate and burgundy. Burp.
Maybe sewing a marsala quilt will force me to appreciate its charms? I must say, there are some very handsome quilts appearing in the flickr group, so it can be done. I’ve put together a Pinterest board with colour options, hoping inspiration will strike. Perhaps I’ll manage a last minute entry…anyone else planning to enter?
And finally, I’m also planning to enter the Umbrella Prints Trimmings Challenge and have purchased a few trimming packs. Umbrella Prints is an Australian textile company so I feel it’s my duty as an Australian to support them (Hillary said I had to, too) . It sure helps that their fabric is just beautiful
So that’s what I’ve been up to lately. How about you?
