_*Role Overview*_:

Provides dedicated, customer focused technology support to their respective ‘Go to Market’ teams. Accountable for establishing strong regional capabilities focused on delivering high-value, innovative solutions and services that take advantage of our local knowledge of the customer and market, the scale of Thomson Reuters, and the full range of the companies assets. Responsible for driving efficiency, alignment and consistency to ensure our global business is well placed to respond quickly and effectively to customer needs.

Owns all technology resources within region – from business requirements analysis and prioritization, through application development and solutions delivery, to driving the day-to-day performance of our technical offerings and associated customer experience in the region. The function will be accountable for managing technology due-diligence decision process and rapid asset integration planning associated with asset acquisitions. The function will also play a key role in the local evolution of our R&D and innovation focus within the region.

_*ROLE PURPOSE*_

* Leads a regional cross-functional technology team focused on delivering the ‘right’ solutions and services to meet local business needs to customers quickly and effectively that leverage Thomson Reuters global scale and assets.
* Accountable for the delivery of committed solutions to customers on time and on budget. Ensures region maintains right level of technical expertise and capacity to meet demand, whilst effectively leveraging the broader technology community to drive customer experience and profitability.
* Actively engaged in sales cycle, execution and product / platform development governance – driving effective prioritization, financial analysis (cost of sale, cost of support), platform alignment and standardization, and best practice in order to support sustainable & profitable growth.
* Ensures that the GGO region has the right tools, offerings and focus to retain and grow our customer base and run an effective business operation.
* Responsible for strategic decisions on acquisitions and driving the effective integration of their technology capabilities within Thomson Reuters.
* Active leader within the broader GGO Technology transformation – working to drive simplification, standardization and optimization of technology and technical services.
* Provides a sounding board for senior colleagues through own expertise, and acts as conduit to escalate issues and share dependencies across regions.

_*RESPONSIBILITIES*_

* Leads the strategic direction within own remit and contributes to / influences the broader strategy of the group as a member of both the GGO Regional Business and Technology Leadership Teams. Ensures its implementation fits with the overall goals and needs of the GGO business unit in the region as well as globally AND the broader Thomson Reuters technology strategy.
* Leads and manages the day-to-day development and service activities of their regional team – responsible for ensuring business and customer targets are met whilst driving (measurable) continuous improvement and optimization of the group and services that it provides.
* Leads multiple teams and/or operations efficiently that cross multiple technology functional areas/products/projects/regions and supporting their career development (objective setting, performance management, talent management, etc.)
* Responsible for building, developing and leading a highlight effective and motivated work force with clearly defined mission and business and function aligned objectives. Builds talent and partners with other technical development areas to identify organizational structure and drive change in line with current and future business needs.
* Defines and promotes a customer-aware culture for their team, ensuring close working relationships with key local and global teams including Business Unit Technology Teams, Central Platform Group, & Technical Operations.
* Builds and maintains effective relationships with key internal and external customers. Works with stakeholders to identify opportunities, issues and risks. Responsible for critical client engagement for customer problems’ resolution or new business development.
* Accountable that technology design fits with existing and future technology strategy – ensuring tactical decisions / solutions account for and influence broader strategic direction.
* Anticipates customer expectations/needs along with regional industry and market trends and translates into application roadmap or project strategy.
* Creates an environment and workflow that ensures proactive identification of change to prevent problems, optimize processes, and balance risks and rewards. Ensures operational requirements, standards and best practices are factored into plans.
* Takes responsibility for selected key projects / activities and provide management bandwidth within the organization.
* Provides effective dissemination of management information, leadership, and general communications to staff within the development and service groups for that region.

* Ensures organization policies and programs of the Division/BU/Functional area are carried out.
* Applies Technical expertise to directly impact or influence the decisions of a Division/SBU/Function.
* Meets regularly with internal and external peers to improve the quality of development in the organizations as well as, initiates, promotes, and ensures execution of best development practices.
* Provides leadership and direction through directors.
* Directs and controls the performance and talent activities of multiple functional areas, product groups and/or service areas through managers who have overall responsibility for the successful operation of those assigned areas.
* Responsible for motivating and recognizing staff with a special emphasis on direct reports.
* Grows organization talent through recruiting, coaching, mentoring, and developing strategies for above.
* Ensures objectives and budget are met, driving up execution performance, service and quality, whilst driving down costs, outages, bugs & execution delays

* Proven technical professional services and software solutions delivery experience – building and leading internal and partner teams that work with customers to deliver.
* Proven experience using formal software engineering tools and methodologies, including design, development, testing, etc.
* Uses effective influence, collaboration, and negotiation skills cross group / cross border to achieve win-win solutions both internally and externally.
* Articulates technical and non-technical information effectively to multiple audiences and levels. Demonstrates active listening.
* Ability to build and manage financial plans to meet organizational objectives.
* Ability to stand-alone and drive difficult decisions.
* Appreciates and drives change in the organization as well as the impacts and consequences of those changes.
* Ability to anticipate and identify threats and opportunities, and create innovative strategies.
* Able to inspire and influence broadly throughout the organization.
* Strong technology leadership and people management experience. Competent to manage from senior technical managers to individual technical contributors. Able to discover and develop technical and management talents.

* Influences and partners with peers, high priority internal and external customers, external vendors, and stakeholders to exchange information and drive business results.
* Interact with BU product development heads, platform management, global services managers, and center of excellence.
* Partner with regional BU managing directors and senior leaders to develop business cases, deliver solutions and services, and drive growth.
* Builds relationships/network with , Community and technology industry advocacy groups, Universities, Boards of organizations, and vendors.
