**Role Summary/Purpose**

In this role you will work within defined parameters to make decisions, apply concepts to issues of moderate complexity, and resolve issues through immediate action or short-term planning. You will be responsible for the following:

• Perform Piping stress analysis as per the time schedule.

• Provide all necessary load data for supports design as per the time schedule.

• Coordinate with the piping and supports engineer and ensure a clash free piping system design.

**Essential Responsibilities**

• Compliance with the Quality and EHS rules from the project, business, sector and corporate within the own area of responsibility

• Supports Lead Engineer Piping in their project activities

• Ensures that he is always up to date for the available new technologies and the current codes and standards

• The Piping Stress Engineer has the technical and time schedule responsibility to perform stress analysis and prepare stress reports as per the batch assigned by the Lead Engineer Piping.

• Ensure adequate flexibility in the piping system by suggesting / incorporating necessary changes in the piping layout

• Locate support points in the 3D model (PDMS) of the piping system.

• Prepare guide arrangement of the supporting concept for the system being analysed.

• Ensure that the design of his Engineering function is according to the applicable rules, regulations, codes and standards and according to good engineering practice especially with regard to Environmental aspects and Health & Safety of Site Personal, Operators, Maintenance personnel and third parties

• Integrating Client’s requirements into the stress calculations

• Optimizing piping layout by integrating the functions of piping design, stress analysis and support design

• Estimate preliminary loads to release early the civil & steel structures detail design

• Inform Lead Engineer Piping of any difficulties regarding adaptation of manpower according to the needs

• React to any missing information

• Manage the team in charge of the engineering scope of supply and/or services assigned to him

• React to any site requirements and assume the necessary tasks to operate the NCR processing. Input the as-recorded information inside the tools and drawings

• Analyse client’s comments and prepare answers duly argued

• Ensure experience feedback from the project

**Qualifications/Requirements**

· Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering.

Professional Experience:

Mandatory (MUST)

• 5 to 7 years working experience of stress analysis of piping systems in power plants (preferably coal based thermal power plants) using tools such as Caesar-II and/or Rohr-2. The experience should include static and dynamic stress analyzing of the critical systems such as main steam, cold reheat, hot reheat, feed water etc with sound knowledge of international piping codes and standards and IBR requirements.

Functional Know-how:

Mandatory (MUST)

• Knowledge of stress analysis – static and dynamic analysis.

• Knowledge of IBR and ASME codes.

• Knowledge of piping materials

Desirable (NICE TO HAVE)

• Knowledge of Rohr 2 / Caesar II software

• Knowledge of PDMS 3D environment and the ability to work in it.

• Good skills in the use of computer applications and computer tools (Microsoft Office, Access)

• Has a good knowledge of Engineering, Design and Project Management tools and methods•
