**Position:**
Land Warfare Platforms Senior Analyst
**Reporting to:**
Land Team Manager
**Position Summary:**
The primary function of the role is to administer records within the AD&S Land Team’s portfolio, covering technical, market and programmatic data for all in production and in-service land platforms and associated systems. The candidate will be a key subject matter expert (SME), authoring specific analysis and insight deliverables based on this information, including consulting projects, regular and ad-hoc reports, webinars, client briefings as well as news stories and feature pieces.
As one of the senior analysts within the team, the candidate will be expected to lead on the creation and delivery of analysis and insight deliverables, acting as a primary point of contact for land content issues and inquiries, including travel to exhibitions, conferences and clients as required.
**General Duties and Responsibilities:**
+ As a key member of the Land Warfare Platforms analytical team, contribute to the maintenance, review and updating of IHS Markit AD&S Land content, including:
+ Land platform and associated equipment records within the _IHS Markit Jane’s Land Warfare Platforms_ product portfolio.
+ Land platform records within the _IHS Markit Jane’s Markets Forecast: Military Ground Vehicles_ product.
+ Land platform records within the _IHS Markit Jane’s Defence Procurement: Combat Vehicle Programmes_ product.
+ Author and contribute to ad-hoc news and analysis for the IHS Markit AD&S news products, including Jane’s Defence Weekly and International Defence Review on the subject of military land platforms and associated technology.
+ Support sales leads from a Land Team perspective in the provision of supporting information and meetings to help win new or repeat business.
+ Support and as required manage the provision of land equipment consulting deliverables within agreed Levels of Effort and timescales, using resources across AD&S. This activity may require internal or external SME engagement and support.
+ Contribute (as required) to ad-hoc analytical tasks including periodic and one-off reports, presentations and media interactions.

+ Has an active and enthusiastic knowledge of military land platforms and equipment technology, maintaining a good knowledge of all major developments across the spectrum of land equipment.

**Educational Requirements:**
+ Minimum of a University (BA or BSc degree or equivalent) level qualification.
**Special Skills/Experience/Competencies:**
+ 3+ years of experience in aerospace & defence research / analysis, with experience in either a consulting, equipment supplier or armed forces user environment **desirable** .
+ Specific expertise in land warfare platforms, weapons, armour or vehicle mobility systems highly desirable.
+ Specific expertise of a segment of the land platform environment highly desirable, including:
+ Armoured Fighting Vehicles (AFV)
+ Artillery platforms
+ Air defence systems
+ Logistic support vehicles
+ Land vehicle weapon systems
+ Land vehicle armour systems
+ Excellent communication skills, both written and oral, including virtual and physical presentational skills.
+ Fully conversant with MS Office (notably Excel and PowerPoint) and capable of mastering IT platforms to a high standard with requisite training.
+ Team player, comfortable working and leading mixed groups of specialists in the delivery of projects.
