**Role Summary/Purpose**

The Lead Supplier Quality Engineer is a key role in the Sourcing & Quality organizations should be accountable to: - Own & Achieve Supplier Quality goals for assigned supplier base & commodity – Should Meet sourcing goals across product group Work closely with sourcing counterparts to identify & grow sourcing opportunities. This is a key technical position, affecting part quality for both installed base and New Product Introductions parts.

**Essential Responsibilities**

The Supplier Quality Engineer has to develop & maintain objectives to deliver following responsibilities:

1. Responsible for driving quality for assigned suppliers, improving quality performance via facilitating continuous process improvements at supplier facility.

2. Handhold supplier in Flawless Execution of Qualification on new Products. ·

3. On-time execution of new component qualifications using GE Qualification procedure.

4. Responsible for meeting Supplier Quality metrics such as supplier yield, field cost, field defect rate, supplier quality plan, COQ, On-time corrective action closure, Audit rigor and improve supplier quality score card.

5. Identify & qualify new products & suppliers in the region to drive growth.

6. Drive and develop a strong QMS mind set at supplier site; Accelerate improvements in supplier quality and deliver value ·

7.Provide correlation with GE facilities · Act as consultant to the Quality, Manufacturing and Engineering organizations to improve Quality and Manufacturing processes, introduce new products and improve product design

8. Specify and develop product acceptance/test procedures that relate to a complex process highly complex product ·

9. Audits (Process, Product, Quality systems, SRG/Compliance, 'Eyes always open'): Obtain a sound understanding of GE expectations on audits. Conduct audits keeping with good practices & publish professional reports in the appropriate system. Identify & communicate best practices/risks Work with supplier & other stakeholders to close findings & improve supplier processes

**Qualifications/Requirements**

- Bachelor Degree in Mechanical/Production / Weld Engineering. - 8~10 years’ experience in quality / manufacturing / vendor development functions. -Ability to manage multiple qualifications and work with global teams to approve/qualify suppliers and improve their performance. –

Must have hands on experience in one or more of following fields

(1) Medium to Heavy forgings casting and machining

(2) Adequate Knowledge in Hydraulic and leak testing process

(3) Ability to understand the CTQ’s and suggest suitable machines for machining

(4) Ability to prepare manufacturing process plan (MPP) for machining, by selecting process steps, suitable machines, conducting FMEA and preparing control plans.

(5)Ability to understand and establish appropriate inspection/measurement system based on the geometry /tolerance and part profile. -Ability to understand drawings, dimensioning and geometrical tolerencing (GT)

(6) Knowledge on selection of weld specific process parameters.

(7) Basic knowledge about NDT techniques including RT, UT, VT and knowledge about such testing machines

(8)Strong EHS background, familiar with India Environmental, health, and safety law and regulations -Very Strong Result Oriented Mindset; and process improvement approach. -Exposure to ISO 14001 and OSHAS Standards will be added advantage

**Desired Characteristics**

1. Candidates with certifications in technology, quality systems, audit or testing areas can be preferred based on relevance of certification

2. Strong oral and written communication skills - Strong interpersonal and leadership skills - Ability to cope with multiple complex situations daily -Ability to guide and influence others -Sourcing experience /prior Oil & Gas Industry experience. -Green Belt certified (GE employees only) -International Experience. -Lead Auditor Certification- ISO-9001/2000

3. Candidates from Oil and Gas Industry preferred.

4. MUST: Highest Level of Integrity. -MUST: Willingness to travel for more than 50% of the time .
