Apart from this you will need to ensure all Database servers are in sync with DB security patches and OS security patches. You will apply your expertize to handle DBA tickets, support tickets, user requests, and routine support and maintenance activities. And you will extend help to Dev DBA's in identifying/providing Database information/issues. Tune complex Oracle SQL proactively as required. What you’ll do: As an Oracle Database Administrator you will

+ Build RAC Database in Oracle 11g real application clusters

+ Check backup status of OCR file, cluster, node status, load balancing and services

+ Manage ASM storage migration, Creation of Diskgroup, Rebalancing the diskgroup and alter diskgroups

+ Design and Handle backup strategy. Configure and implement "backup/recovery" server according to the requirements of each Oracle system

+ Implement Installation/Upgradation of Linux (Red Hat 5.x, OEL 6.4) Software.

+ Implement Installation/Configuration of Data Guard Broker and testing all Failover scenarios.

+ Ensure Installing/Upgrading/Downgrading Oracle 11g/10g/9i/8i.

+ Ensure Adding/Deleting Nodes from RAC Cluster.

+ Ensure Moving Instances across RAC Cluster.

+ Have good knowledge on oracle High Availability features, Disaster Recovery, Cluster Technology and FLASHBACK Technology.

Qualifications

+ 8-10+ years of Oracle Database Administrator experience

+ 2+ years hands on experience on RAC with Oracle 11g real application clusters

+ 3+ years of experience on OEM – Creation of DBconsole, Running backup jobs

+ Proficient in Installation/upgradation of Linux systems

+ Expertise in Adding/deleting nodes in RAC cluster

+ Expertise in using Backup/Recovery strategy, design and implementation using Cold backup, Hot backup and RMAN methodologies.

+ 2 year's experience in configuration and tuning of Oracle database

+ Good Communication and leadership skills

+ Ability to pick up new areas and work on a Consultant Profile as well

+ Able to guide a team of lesser experienced professionals
