**Job Summary**
AECOM is providing general engineering consultancy services for Phase-I of Ahmedabad Metro Rail project . With this win, AECOM becomes the only consultant to be associated with all the metro projects in the six Indian cities of Delhi, Kolkata, Chennai, Hyderabad, Mumbai and Ahmedabad.
As the general engineering consultant, AECOM will be working on design review, technical specifications, system integration, procurement, construction supervision, project management, tender and award of contracts, contract administration, station and depot architecture, civil and interface management and testing and commissioning of Phase I.
AECOM India is currently seeking a Chief Health & Environment Expert for the above project. The responsibilities shall include but not limited to:
+ Ensure high standards of Safety during the construction of Metro Stations Buildings both elevated and underground.
+ Following Condition of Contract, BOCW Acts, Rules 1996 & 1998 and OSHA standards,
+ Should have knowledge of national building codes 2005 & NFPA Standards, CPCB rules and other relevant statutory rules and legal requirements applicable.
+ Liaise with Client, Consultant, Govt Officials, Management and all concern department personnel to ensure smooth running of the project.
+ Preparation of Safety plan, CEMP, Health Plan, Fire Plan, Emergency Management & Contingency Plan,Traffic Management Plan, HIRA, SOP, SWI, and submit the same and get approvals from Client and Consultant. Periodically review the same. Ensure for In house and external trainings in line with training matrix and training calendar.
+ Focus on occupational health based issues encountered handling with Cement, Chemicals/ Paints/ Solvents /Liquids (Control of Substances Hazardous to Health), Dust, Noise, Vibrations/ Emissions, Food and hygiene, Hazardous; Bio-Medical & Food waste etc.
+ Ensure for ZAP and present during high risk activities like Mining works, Lifting and Height works.
+ organize monthly Safety Committee Meetings and to attend clients Weekly Meetings. Prepare and submit monthly Safety & Environmental reports.
+ Record and investigate all Incidents, Near Miss, Property Damages and review HIRA time to time.
+ Assist for Site & Labour camp inspections and reviewing the same.
+ Recommend rewards/ certificates for complying Safety Plan and Penalize for non-adherence.
**Minimum Requirements**
+ The candidate should have minimum 20 years of experience in HSE and at least 4 years of experience in metro projects.
+ Bachelors in Technology and Diploma in Industrial Safety.
**Preferred Qualifications**
+ Good technical, communication & interpersonal skills.
+ Extensive People Management skills, able to communicate and lead a multi-faceted team.
+ Strategic orientation skills with the ability to problem solve and negotiate with internal and external stakeholders on behalf of AECOM and the Client
