PURPOSE AND OBJECTIVES

The India Market Unit is responsible for driving SAP’s software and services business across the Indian Subcontinent comprising India, Sri Lanka & Bangladesh markets. As one of the largest & fastest growing MU’s in APJ, there is strong focus on realizing potential of India market opportunity as well as Partner ecosystem & developer opportunity to showcase innovation from India for the world.
The Head of Marketing for India (India MU) is a core member and trusted advisor to the India Senior Executive Leadership Team, and is responsible for driving business results and organizational effectiveness through the development, deployment and management of the India marketing functions and resources.
You will be responsible for:

* Overall MU marketing strategy through to execution, and respective marketing contributions to pipeline and revenue across all customer segments, product portfolios and markets.
* Achieving the objectives defined within the local business plans which include SAP Thought Leadership, Awareness, Demand Generation, Reputation & loyalty management and pipeline acceleration through to closure.
* Engaging and managing internal stakeholder expectations on various levels, and also present yourself with SAP as a thought leader in the market.

EXPECTATIONS AND TASKS

Marketing Strategy Development

* Lead the development and implementation of innovative marketing programs in partnership with Sales to meet revenue and pipeline targets across all customer segments.
* Ensure that persuasive, consistent and concise positioning occurs throughout all integrated marketing programs within the customer segment/industry/solution/geography/RTM.
* Provide strategic direction and help drive strong alignment and integration between campaign developments with the output of joint business planning efforts.
* Lead by example and be the digital ambassador within India Subcontinent by following a “digital first” marketing approach across all programs and campaigns.
* Enable Sales and all Corporate Functions (HR, Finance, Procurement, IT) to be brand ambassadors through innovative approaches such as social selling.
Marketing Operations Excellence

* Ensure cross-organizational alignment – departmental, LoB & APJ/Global – to identify best practices, opportunities, share learning, leveraged resources, innovation, etc.
* Lead the team to operational excellence ensuring scale, leveragability, best practice definition, continuous learning and ensure the transition from strategy to deliverable to business impact.
* Contribute sales insight to the delivery & processes; ensure alignment with sales objectives and marketing and business development strategy.
* Familiar with operating within a matrix organization, cooperating with local and with virtual teams. Co-lead India demand management council through close collaboration with Chief Operating Officer, Business Operations and Sales leaders to ensure 4x pipeline coverage and progression of sales opportunities.
Stakeholder Collaboration

* Participate in Strategic Planning across the Sales and Services Leadership Teams – Set standards to work with Business Planning, Marketing Planning, and Business Development/Management to determine strategic goals for hub, geographies or routes to market.
* Translate business needs into integrated and/or industry/solution specific programs. Oversee and ensure programs and campaigns are expertly aligned with stated strategic goals.
* Ensure the full success of the SAP Marketing objectives and strategies within India.
* Ensure marketing plans and programs are integrated with “Franchise for Success” and aligned to demand management requirements and methodology.
* Oversee others to strongly align with sales stakeholders and internal business partners (Sales, Procurement, Finance, Compliance, HR etc.) in order to align with other Go-To-Market programs and initiatives (i.e. sales plays, demand management council) and deliver the appropriate plan for marketing contribution to pipeline and revenue.
* Support/enable the sales organization through delivery of key programs, customer stories, compelling positioning to cross-/upsell install based customers and lead the acquisition of new name business.
* Ensure regular reporting to stakeholders to update the organization and leadership team on ongoing marketing programs and initiatives to ensure alignment, agreement and support of overall Marketing Plan for India.
Transformational Leadership & Management Excellence

* Effectively manage the marketing budget and make decisions regarding investment levels for targeted customer segments, industry, solution or Indian Subcontinent wide opportunities.
* Create and communicate goals, objectives and KPI's for all marketing initiatives and ensure ROI is achieved.
* Build productive and influential executive relationships with internal and external constituents. Align resources to maximize highest leverage opportunities for pipeline growth ROI and revenue impact.
* Motivate develop and retain a high performing team with complementary strengths. Provide an environment where talent wants to thrive, be a talent magnet who grows, matures and promotes talent from within.

EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES

* Degree in Engineering/business (or equivalent) is required and an advanced degree is strongly preferred. MBA preferred.
* Willingness to travel within Indian SubContinent on a frequent basis and must have a strong grasp and proven record of successful interaction with both creative aspects of business and technical implementation and tactics of operations.
* 12-18 years of business experience with an emphasis on leading teams both at regional and country level.
* The ideal candidate would also have experience working in an international, matrix-based and collaborative organization setting.
