**Job Summary**

We are seeking a Senior Geotechnical Engineer for Highways to join our project team in Patna, Bihar location. In this role you will be responsible for the following:

Develop a Geotechnical Practice area focused on providing services on AECOM transportation-related projects. Provide senior technical level engineering analysis and review of work performed by junior staff. Develop external clients for geotechnical focused projects. Develop and mentor junior and entry level engineers. Direct and execute geotechnical project assignments including engineering analysis, report preparation and review, field exploration and laboratory services. Pursue business development opportunities throughout the region and the technical practice groups. Actively participate in professional and technical organizations.

Develop appropriate scope of work, manage and perform field work for geotechnical explorations in support of work for public and private clients. Analyze data collected for geotechnical and studies including research, review of test results, technical analysis, modeling, and development of design recommendations. Manage technical support staff, subcontractors and subconsultants. Monitor and maintain a working knowledge of recent developments in geotechnical engineering technology, techniques, and procedures. Maintain key client relationships for projects in multiple offices. Communicate effectively with team members and clients both in oral and written techniques. Demonstrate organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and specific timelines. Work both in the office and in field on projects as needed to include a wide variety of construction sites.

**Minimum Requirements**

+ ME Geotechnical Engineering & BE / BTech Civil

+ Must have overall 20 years experience in Highways and must have worked with World Bank funded projects.

+ Experience in the analysis, design and construction of transportation facilities including earthen fills, deep foundations, earth retention systems and pavement design.

+ Experience with the Unified Soil Classification System, WisDOT Facilities Development Manual, Bureau of Structures LRFD Bridge Manual, Standard Specifications for Highway and Structure Construction, AASHTO and AREMA design manuals and specifically LRFD analysis and design, as well as other generally accepted geotechnical manuals and standard practice.

+ Previous experience in client facing roles with exceptional verbal and written communication skills.

+ Experience in geotechnical report preparation and development of appropriate geotechnical recommendations.

+ Proficient in project management with proven ability to meet business goals.

+ Strong background in soil mechanics with extensive knowledge of geotechnical analysis and laboratory testing of soil.

+ Strong verbal and written communication skills.

+ Familiarity with Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and SharePoint as well as other geotechnical engineering software.

+ Service external clients as well as internal clients with other divisions working on multi-discipline engineering projects.

+ Ability to develop new business.
