Job Description
o . The selected individual will be working in the Boeing India Engineering and Technology Center (BIETC) in Bangalore, India.
o Designs, develops and maintains complex databases. Creates procedures for the design, implementation and test of database backup, recovery systems, database migration and archiving systems and procedures.
o Creates plans for the implementation of database security infrastructure.
o Consults with architects and technical specialists to identify proper hardware and software implementations.
o Demonstrates industry best practices and skills with, oracle databases, RAC, backup and recovery, UNIX and Linux operating systems, and performance tuning.
o Plans, installs and tests software upgrades and patches. Provides input on organizational standards for database monitoring thresholds. Monitors performance trends to identify and correct problems.
o Applies extensive job practices, techniques, standards, principles, theories, and concepts. Has full knowledge of other related disciplines. Recognized as a job expert within the department/organization.
o Participates as an active team member and participant in on call, planned maintenance, production outages, and projects.
o Creates procedures for design, implementation and testing of backup and recovery systems by working with the customer to meet requirements and align with corporate disaster recovery guidelines. Creates documentation for backup and recovery. Defines database validation requirements to ensure database integrity.
o Provides specifications to customers for connecting to various databases. Consults with customers and/or database modelers and architects to plan and develop more complex database designs. Directs the database design. Participates in the change process for review of requested changes.
o Develops a plan and directs implementation of database security infrastructure that coincides with policy requirements, in conjunction with Boeing and/or customer security standards. Implements and validates security infrastructure to meet corporate and government guidelines. Makes recommendations for security best practices.
o Develops database maintenance procedures and tools, utilizing best practices. Maintains complex databases by performing appropriate database management functions (e.g., maintain space availability, rebuilds indexes, file cleanup, runs utilities to check database integrity) to ensure optimum capacity and application performance. Communicates database status to the user community.
o Documents database administration related information in a common location accessible to the rest of team members.
o Guides the successful completion of database related projects.
o Displays a spirit of wanting to learn more and do more while setting an example to the team.
o Represents the database team with integrity and leadership.
o The selected individual will also be responsible to provide support to development of internal competency and resources for critical skill sets for the Digital Aviation solutions team in Boeing India.
o This position develops and maintains technical relationships / partnerships with customers, suppliers, peers, partners and team members to execute on projects.
o This position provides periodic updates to Boeing management in the form of progress reports, project summaries, and other related documents. This position will also be responsible for coordinating and communicating regularly with experts in Boeing organizations around the world.

Position Description
Roles and Responsibility
o Must have extensive hands on knowledge with Oracle RDBMS in a production environment.
o 5 to 8 year experience supporting databases in cloud technologies, like AWS.
o 5 to 8 year experience working with a DBA team.
o Demonstrates industry best practices and skills with, oracle databases, RAC, backup and recovery, UNIX and Linux operating systems, and performance tuning
o Oracle Enterprise Manager experience; prefer Oracle 12c Cloud Control.
o Database administration experience with Oracle 10g/11g/12c on Linux/Unix
o Unix and Linux Operating system experience.
o Database virtualization experience desired.
o Oracle EBS 11i/12 Apps DBA experience desired
o Oracle EBS R12.2 Apps DBA experience desired.
o Postgresql experience desired.
o Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high pressure environment.
o Displays excellent oral and written communication skills to team members, peers, customers and management
o Any relevant Industry Certifications is a plus
o Strong interpersonal and communications skills
o Collaborate effectively with other team members
Qualification
* Bachelor’s degree in Science, Technology, Mathematics, Information Technology, or Engineering is required with 5 year work experience in IT industry, 5 year experience supporting databases in cloud technologies, like AWS and 5 year experience working with a DBA team
