The primary purpose of this role is to Install, implement, configure, upgrade, and optimize the performance of application systems and databases required to operate Allscripts’ software Development and QA environments.
*Establish, manage and maintain the Systems Development Environments, Upgrades, and Assigned Tasks that meet agreed functional requirements and customer expectations*

* Ensure enough reviews have happened (Peer, Stakeholders) and all review comments have been closed / incorporated before delivery of any artifacts

*Infrastructure System Development Environments, Upgrades, and Assigned Task delivered within estimates and according to agreed schedule/within Target Level of Agreement*

Responsibilities:
* Collaborating with other systems engineers on the infrastructure architecture supporting design and implementation of comprehensive technical infrastructure to support all Hosting Solutions Delivery Models
* Execute plans for proactive system fixes that prevent incidents that impact availability and user experience from occurring
* Be a subject matter expert on all storage technologies in order to ensure we deliver the most cost effective, consistent, resilient, secure, scalable and supportable designs and implementations for the business and our customers
* Be involved in applying a formal change management, incident management, and problem management process
* Support and execute pro-active improvements by assessing past problems and current weaknesses in the existing system and/or application architecture
* Apply formal methodology to assess the technical and financial viability of storage architectures for systems & solutions to be leveraged within a remote hosting environment
* Work on-call as needed to assist in resolving critical issues

* Work with technical management to architect storage environments that effectively reflect business needs, service-level and availability requirements, and other technology parameters.
* Operation of storage & BCDR infrastructure and participate in the development of business requirements and implementation plans
* Provide storage infrastructure & BCDR deployment support, software management, system troubleshooting, performance engineering and optimization, and maintenance
* Support the technology roadmap in the storage & BCDR space and work with other architects for overall roadmap direction development
* Support conceptual, logical, or physical storage designs with associated documentation (including BCDR components, strategies and standards)
* Write procedures for installation, use, or troubleshooting of storage hardware and/or software.
* Work directly with project management group to help manage implementation of storage infrastructure projects from a technical, educational, and documentation creation as well as review perspective
* Stay abreast of storage infrastructure technology and how it is currently impacting and driving business solutions & direction of technology with partners, vendors, and applicable industries
* Serve as a liaison to vendors and/or third-party providers
* Perform storage environment troubleshooting to isolate and diagnose common storage problems as part of solution onboarding into hosting
* Establish governing principles for storage design and deployment & BCDR needs
* Continually update understanding of business and technology status and objectives and respond to strategic design requests as the business evolves
* Support the operation of the Business Continuity plan as it relates to ongoing processes around backup, recovery practices, media management, and long term retention procedures
* Support Disaster Recovery planning, and testing initiatives
Academic and Professional Qualifications:
* Bachelors Degree or relevant technical experience
Experience:
* Strong background (4+ years) in storage technologies including EMC, NetApp, iSCSI, Fibre Channel, FCOE which encompasses solution selection, implementation, patching, upgrades, troubleshooting, system management, pro-active measures, and in documenting best practices
* Strong background (4+ years) in backup and recovery software and processes including Netbackup, Avamar, Datadomain, Recoverpoint
* Strong background (2+ years) working with Microsoft OS, other Microsoft server technologies (BizTalk, IIS, SQL Server, SCOM, AD, etc.), Linux, and Virtualization technologies (VMware and/or HyperV), which encompasses collaboratively working with other architects in these technologies for storage needs as well as BCDR planning of solutions utilizing these technologies (and others)
* Familiarity of offsite and replication processes and procedures
* Working knowledge of PowerShell and ideally other scripting technologies, and the ability to provide working examples of how you have used scripting to automate deployment, monitoring, and/or to implement corrective actions across a large remote hosted environment
* Proven ability to troubleshoot storage environments using vendor utilities and 3rd party tools
* Experience and in-depth understanding and of storage communication protocols
* Strong understanding of data center design and principles - hosting experience a plus
* Experience in building scalable, fault-tolerant storage infrastructures to support cloud computing & remote hosting
* Deep exposure to storage technologies around NetApp, EMC, Brocade, Cisco, iSCSI, Fibre Channel
* Experience in storage analyzers, sniffers and ability to decode storage traffic in a datacenter environment
* Storage certifications a plus. (EMC certifications, NetApp certifications, Brocade certifications, Cisco certifications etc.)
