**JOB SUMMARY**

The Lead Technical Support Engineer is responsible for developing and documenting best practices to drive more value within the ANSYS ecosystem. The role leads collaboration with product development to improve the product experience. The Lead TSE is expected to lead by example, mentoring and developing ACE team members and channel partners.

**ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS**

* Collaborate effectively to transfer product knowledge and best practices to the ACE team; lead by example while personally owning the customer support experience, creating a role model for the ACE team

* Lead and participate in the development and mentoring of ACE team members, including but not limited to providing the team with effective guidance to support key goals, cross territory collaboration, and professional growth

* Conduct intermediate and/or advanced training classes on the usage of ANSYS simulation products

* Responsible for developing and documenting best practices in their area of expertise

* Lead collaboration with product development in one or more areas of technology to improve ANSYS products and the customers’ experience using these products

**JOB MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS**

* Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Chemical or other technical discipline

* A minimum of 7 years of experience, including post-BS academic experience, in an engineering environment

* A minimum of 2 years manager-level or Senior Engineer level work experience in application engineering, customer support, customer consulting services, or related customer facing activities

* Demonstrated problem solving skills and ability to implement numerical models to obtain practical engineering solutions to difficult problems

* Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and to communicate effectively with customers

* Is considered a subject matter expert and recognized within the Sector/Country or Division in at least one relevant discipline within our business and is sought out for counsel and advice by other engineers within ANSYS and/or by industry experts

* Demonstrated understanding of engineering practices and product development, technology and how these tools are used by our customers

* Ability to manage multiple projects which are complex in nature and coordinate colleagues across diverse teams

* Strong verbal and written communication skills

* Strong leadership and mentoring skills

* Sound knowledge of fluid mechanics, heat transfer and reacting flow

* Experience in handling complex reacting flow simulation using ANSYS CFD products

**OTHER INFORMATION**

* MS or PhD degree preferred

* A minimum of 8 years of experience in an engineering environment is preferred

* Must have passion and drive for personal technical excellence and high performance

* Must have customer service aptitude and maintain customer focus

* Ability to travel up to 60%
