Job Overview
This position is responsible for building programs, data access routines, reports and applications in areas such as departmental applications, research and analysis, business applications, business intelligence and data warehousing. Program, code, test, modify and obtain requirements for programs that are used in applications, reports and systems. Analyze and investigate applications/systems, reports, graphics, web, multimedia, voice response and conversational user interaction. Create, evaluate and modify prototypes to support evolving software application development. Work in this area can include specialized skills in reporting, business intelligence and data warehousing using technologies such as Business Objects, SQL, etc.
Assist clients with the development or enhancement of Internet, intranet, or extranet-based applications, multimedia applications, and database interactions. Work on problems of moderate scope.
Develop, integrate and implement related applications components, including front-end development, server-side development and database integration. Program, document, and administer applications. Manage cost and ensure continuity of applications within application requirements. Apply software design/usability processes in the investigation of technical problems.
Work involves the application of moderately complex procedures and tasks that are varied. Independent judgment and decision-making is required.
Specific job activities and results may be reviewed. Position is responsible for developing new ideas and changes in methods, procedures or services.
Key Responsibilities
* Develop tests and modifies software programs. Develop test plans and documents results for evaluation of system performance. Conduct analysis of systems specifications and uses analysis/diagramming tools to represent business/technical processes. Prepare and obtain approval of system and programming documentation. Recommend changes in development, maintenance and system standards.
* Develop, analyze and modify tools that support and automate processes for software product releases. Initiate the build and package process. Responsible for source code control. Ensure software registry and delivery.
* Build applications using Internet and Windows Development tools including Microsoft, Business Objects and SAP, etc. Develop applications with advanced graphics and features.
* Compile data and research results for use in meeting information requests, decision support and business intelligence activities. Assist in evaluating accountability measures, program evaluation, testing and prepare summary and detailed statistics and reports.
* Develop, assess and communicate website usage and security policies and standards.
* May develop user interfaces, with emphasis on human error control, display issues, visual interaction, physical manipulation, and task and objective analyses. May produce specifications describing user requirements and internal structures for product in development.
* Responsible for resolution of operability issues related to programs, data access routes, reports and applications.
* During times of emergencies, outages and project planned work; employees are expected to be on call and available until the event is addressed. During system conversions, extra effort may be required in order to ensure the roll out of the system is successful.
* Perform other job-related duties as assigned.

Business Travel and Physical Demands
Business travel of approximately 10 or less percent yearly is expected for this position.

Preferred Education
Bachelor's Degree or global equivalent in a related field.
Work Experience
Typically 2 or more years of related experience. Familiarity with code generation technologies, enterprise application integration, service oriented architecture, ETL tools (extract, transform, load) and application infrastructure technologies.
