Analyze, design develop, troubleshoot and debug software programs for commercial or end user applications. Writes code, completes programming and performs testing and debugging of applications.
As a member of the software engineering division, you will perform high-level design based on provided external specifications. Specify, design and implement minor changes to existing software architecture. Build highly complex enhancements and resolve complex bugs. Build and execute unit tests and unit plans. Review integration and regression test plans created by QA. Communicate with QA and porting engineering as necessary to discuss minor changes to product functionality and to ensure quality and consistency across specific products.
Duties and tasks are varied and complex needing independent judgment. Fully competent in own area of expertise. May have project lead role and or supervise lower level personnel. BS or MS degree or equivalent experience relevant to functional area. 4 years of software engineering or related experience.

Dev IT team is part of the HSGBU Engineering Organization. Dev IT primary responsibility is to build, provision and maintain pre-production environments to support the product development organization. These environments are leveraged by Development, QA, and Performance teams to facilitate developing new product releases.

The Sr. Software Engineer responsibilities:

Primary responsibility is to develop, provision and support pre-production environments.
Automation is the key responsibility using any modern Cloud enablement frameworks/tools like Chef, OpenStack, Puppet, Mcollective
Collaborates with development teams and proactively works on deployments and configuration issues
Contributes to the success of the team by undertaking technical support tasks as necessary
Develops and implements departmental best practices and Quality Assurance-controlled Work Instructions
Monitors industry trends and anticipates customer needs for technical service-related support.
Recommends and implements new strategies as well as maintains continuous improvements, in terms of efficiency and customer satisfaction

Education Requirement:

Bachelor s or Master s degree in computer sciences and experience in health care and life sciences is plus.

Experience Requirement (minimum):

Minimum 2- 5 years of DevOps experience and Automation
In-depth knowledge of Oracle database and Oracle Fusion technologies
Good understanding of Linux, Windows systems, and automation experience using Chef, Puppet, Open stack and/or Ruby, Perl, Python and any other tools in cloud/SaaS environments.
Excellent communication skills - verbal and written
Ability to undertake business travel (up to 25%) in support of sales efforts by giving presentations at customer sites or conferences as needed.
Requires experience in conducting independent research and strong customer interaction skills
