This role would be part of the technology team that supports the clearing of Futures & Options and Cleared OTC Derivatives around the globe.
Role Description
This is a "hands-on" technical role working on a variety of projects in the CDT – Finance Tech team on the SuperGL application. The team is composed of a mix of iSeries and Java developers. Our team looks after end to end initiatives with a direct impact on the financial accounting.
SuperGL application is currently organized around two different streams:
- Accounting : Processes data from GMI and feeds into SAP and Oracle accounting systems.
- Regulatory Interfaces : Produces reports that are fed into CAP and Credit risk systems.
The primary focus of the Java developer will be to develop a new distributed platform to migrate the existing iSeries based application into a new application from scratch. This is an exciting position to work for as the role offers an opportunity to define the design and tool set that will be used in the strategic platform.
Responsibilities
* Analyze requirements and produce technical specifications.
* Work with the developers and business users to understand the functionality of the current system.
* Help in picking up appropriate tool sets and come up with top notch designs that will provide the existing functionality in the new platform.
* Develop agreed functionality in pre-defined timelines.
* It is expected that some element of L3 support may be involved, particularly around your own implementations and areas of specialization.
* Document system scenarios and identify roles impacted to help develop and change management and training plan.
* Work with other technical teams like GMI, SAP, etc. for project coordination and upstream/downstream system analysis.
Qualifications and Skills (Required)
* Relevant University degree with atleast 8 years of professional experience
* Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
* Core Java with focus on tools/frameworks around aggregation, formatting, etc.
* Messaging and File Transfer protocols – MQ, SFTP, SCP, etc.
* Oracle SQL – Ability to write complete queries and stored procedures and invoke them via JDBC.
* Familiarity with UI frameworks like HTML5, Angular JS, etc.
* Experience with QA procedures
* Experience with documentation / issues tracking tools
* Ability to work on their own and with a distributed team i.e. physically located in other regions
* Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders in business, operations, operate etc.
Qualifications and Skills (Nice to have but highly desirable)
* Detailed technical knowledge of FIS GMI
* Experience of working in an Investment Banking context in an agile development
