Amazon’s Catalog Quality group (part of the Search and Discovery organization) is looking for a customer focused Program manager to help us make the world’s best product catalog even better.

About you:

You bring extensive experience in driving program management excellence in large scale projects. You have proven ability to drive process improvements and the ability to keep pace with our explosive growth while motivating others to meet the challenges of a deadline-driven environment. You are a strong communicator in both verbal and written forms and are equally adept in communicating upwards and downwards. You are adept at defining roadmaps and programs, collecting requirements, writing and presenting detailed data driven analysis, coordinate efforts to scope, schedule, and drive programs; as well as analyzing cost/benefit of different decisions. You are a fiercely self-motivated, independent, organized individual who can juggle multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines.

Role and Responsibilities:

In this role, you will be working with a team of engineers, catalog associates and leaders in engineering, business and operations domain. The teams together will cater to improving catalog quality across all marketplaces (US, CA, UK, DE, FR, IT, ES, CN, BR, MX and JP) for Amazon. The catalog quality operations teams’ charter is to drive better catalog quality through a series of programs which include targeted catalog enhancements, audits to monitor catalog health, improve machine learning through manual feedbacks and reviewing crowd-sourced catalog submissions. The catalog quality engineering team’s charter is to provide systems and solutions employing machine learning, data analytics and big data to address catalog issues at scale. You will own roadmaps, strategic initiatives and deliverables for one or more programs in the Catalog space. This will involve working with business, engineering and operations team globally to define strategy and requirements, and lead cross-functional teams on catalog improvement projects.

Here are some key responsibilities of the role:

+ Identify business process improvements and areas of automation, driving these process improvements across Catalog Quality Operations and Technical teams.

+ Define, measure and present metrics / reports on different operations programs to Senior Level Management.

+ Engage effectively with Operations, Business and Technology teams in Amazon to manage and resolve issues and escalations.

+ Partnering with operations and technology management on setting and meeting operational goals and driving operational efficiency through data analysis

+ Strategic planning and forecasting on different areas related to processing queues

+ Work with various internal teams (e.g. category teams, ML teams, engineering teams) to help drive tools and process improvements that affect catalog quality and operations workflows

+ Engage with the Category teams and stakeholders across the globe and build customer confidence through quality delivery, robust processes and sound reporting metrics.

+ A bachelor’s degree from a reputed institution with Fulltime Masters in Business Administration is preferred.

+ 5+ years of experience in program management focused in business, data analytics and operational delivery with progressive levels of responsibility required. Experience in catalog or multi-lingual operations is a plus

+ Very strong written and spoken English is required. Additionally language skills are highly desirable

+ Should have background in quantitative decision making, ability to drive business metrics

+ Prior experience in use of data analysis tools like MS Excel, MA Access, Minitab, SAS

+ Strong analytical skills and attention to detail

+ Ability to perform basic tasks in UNIX command-line tools and scripting experience are also highly desirable

+ Understanding large scale data and techniques from machine learning and data mining is a plus

+ Prior experience in design and execution of analytical projects

+ Experience in working with BI/data warehouse tools, databases, and SQL in a business environment
