Harman’s Lifestyle Audio Software Center of Competence (CoC) is responsible for enabling cutting edge solutions and make them business viable. Embedded Systems is responsible for ensuring that all the features of the Lifestyle Audio products perform at the optimal system efficiency to reduce the processing time and increase reliability. In addition, this domain is responsible for thought leadership by researching and bringing in the next generation technologies. The scope & possibilities are large ranging from large Car Audio solutions to nimble IOT solutions and several products in between,
Role
This is a senior role in a small but high performing team. The Principal Automation Engineer needs to be architect & implement a comprehensive continuous build & integration strategy combined with a robust SCM and automation.
Essential Responsibilities of Principal Automation Engineer:
* Define the Build & Integration strategy across the CoC organization
* Analyze requirements and translate them to the set of tools & infrastructure support needed
* Ability to enable remote management & build creation across geographies
* Setup and maintain tools which are needed for build and test automation
* Strong understanding & integration of automated code quality tools
* Ability to evangelize environment internally and drive its adoption
* Develop tools/scripts to improve the automated quality checks.
* Archiving the build artefacts and set up Release processes
* Support any issues faced by the engineers in using the automated build & test setup.
* Work in a fast paced environment, interacting with team across the globe
Basic Qualifications:
* Bachelors Degree
* 12+ years of experience in Build, Test Automation and Release Management
* Strong experience in configuration and maintenance of build automation server tools like Jenkins (OR Bamboo)
* Experience of integrating SCM tools like Gerrit to Jenkins
* Excellent at bash/python scripting
* Good understanding of cmake/Makefiles
* Experience with code analysis tools like CodeSonar, Purify
* Working experience of automated testing
* Familiar with Agile methodologies and SDLC
* Experience working on complex embedded systems enabling CI setups
* Strong attention to detail
* Exemplary verbal and written communication skills
* Capable project management and time management skills
Preferred Qualifications:
* Experience in administration of SCM tools like Gerrit (or Bitbucket) and integration with build automation
* Familiarity with tools like JIRA, Confluence
* Familiarity with other tools used for software quality check, build & test automation
