**Job Description**
# 1\. Job PurposeThe business analyst is responsible for:
99. the identification and definition of the business needs of HR\-IT stakeholders in the areas of Remuneration, Benefits, Services, Talent, Learning, Strategy and Health; and
99. the determination of IT solution\(s\) to meet their business needs or resolve their business problem\(s\)\.
The business analyst will develop a deep understanding of the business, the processes, the applications, and the information and data and provides business analysis support to delivery vertical teams and consultancy assistance to the Business Interface \(BI\) to drive value for the business\.
# 2\. Job Dimensions\- Direct Budget: Part of total value of projects in HR\-IT, on average $1M per annum
+ Influences portfolio spend of circa $450M

+ Total Staff: Business Analyst works, closely together with Competency Centre \(CC\) Lead, with all people in CC: 100\-200 \(including contractors\)
+ Application Portfolio: Around 160 applications\. Cross\-functional, complex, and multidimensional interconnected projects

We manage an enterprise wide portfolio for Group Functions: Finance, Contracting & Procurement \(FIN\-IT\), Human Resources \(HR\-IT\), Business Administration \(BA\-IT and IT in Shell that supports IT professionals \(IT4IT\), with enhancements and continuous improvement to meet changing business needs\. Our delivery approach provides agile and innovative solutions that maximise the value of Global Functions IT investments in systems, processes, information and data\.
We recognise we are part of an enterprise\-wide IT organisation where collaborative working with colleagues elsewhere in GF IT and in ITSO is a given\. This is fundamental in providing high quality, well managed and fit for purpose end\-to\-end solutions for the businesses\.
The business analyst Data Management, reports to the Portfolio Lead for Strategy and is part of the HR\-IT Competency Centre\. The accountability of the Competency Centre Manager includes delivery of IT projects, solutions, enhancements & releases within the scope of HR\-IT\.

# 5\.Principal Work AccountabilitiesThis role will focus on data quality management across the Global Functions HRIT Portfolio\.
+ Responsible for designing and implementing new operational mass data upload solutions \(i\.e\. via SAP LSMW\) and transferring knowledge to the support organisations\.
+ Responsible for approving the design, implementation and pre\-deployment review for all projects involving data conversion\. In addition to covering data requirements, the design review covers functional requirements to ensure the end to end design is robust and will not cause data quality issues\.
+ Acts as a consultant to provide guidance and expertise on the data design and conversion requirements for enhancements\. Also liaises with the business contacts and enhancement BA to ensure all data cleanse and conversion activity is delivered correctly in production\.
+ Acts as the primary focal point/SME to the support organisation \(Data Management Team – DMT\), project Data Management Consultants \(DMC\) HR Data & Analytics, HR Services, P&S and CI Teams on data quality, support issues, project initiatives, functionality, process and control improvements and large scale data migration activities\.
+ Responsible for conducting detailed root cause analysis of HR data issues, recommending solutions to correct any corrupt data and prevent reoccurrence via process or configuration changes\.

# 7\.Job Competences and Experience
+ Graduate or post graduate
+ Years of experience is 9 \-12 years
+ Bachelor’s Degree required in IT major\.
+ Minimum three \(3\) years’ experience of SAP data management \(LSMW experience desirable, configuration experience preferred, ability to read ABAP an advantage\)
+ Experience of data modelling tools\.
+ Exceptional analytical skills and significant attention to detail and diligence\.
+ Strong MS Excel skills and the ability to work with large data sets\.
+ Strong problem solving and reconciliation skills\.
+ High level of numeracy and the ability to liaise with IT departments and business stakeholders effectively to resolve problems arising with internal processes\.
+ Must be proactive to seek out problem resolutions, be energetic, and able to work in a challenging and deadline driven environment\.
+ Must be able to interface, communicate and influence at all levels of the organization \(Business Stakeholders, Support, Project Teams internal and external to HRIT\)\.
+ Knowledge of SAP HR modules and the surrounding HR processes is essential\.
+ The ability to work independently, with minimal supervision\.
+ The ability to lead HR data related initiatives, advising and supporting others on the roles they need to fulfil\.
