Job Description:
Batch and Middleware Application Support Specialist
Position Overview:
This position is for Application Support Analyst in Asset Management. The individual will support the following production/application activities for all Batch and Middleware applications:
Responsibilities and Deliverables:
-Application and Batch Monitoring
-Application Tuning
-Production Metrics
-Problem Resolution
-Release Management
-Supporting regulatory, management and activities on daily, monthly and quarterly basis
-Remediation of Information Risk Gaps within applications
-Business Continuity Testing
-Minor reporting and bug fixes
The individual will be responsible to ensure that the applications met their required service levels and are the most stable and best performing application in the industry. He/she will be responsible to support process improvements to continuously improve the stability and performance of these applications. This person will need to have flexible work hours as we have weekend support(rota) and adhoc support requirement to cover implementation/migration/ holidays etc.
Some of the key Batch and Middleware applications are:
ODS (PBDS) - The ODS is a collection of subject area oriented Sybase databases. It contains current valued data and is a centralized point of all business data needs for Private Banking. The data is loaded daily in batch and Near Real Time. All data from different business legacy systems is rationalized in the ODS data model.
Middleware - This middleware is intended to create a consistent access layer to data and transactional resources both within and external to the Private Bank. The current implementation provides web services based access to the Private Bank’s PBDS/ODS information repository.
Technical Requirements :
• 5 Years of production support experience.
• 1 Years of development experience.
• Strong monitoring, analytical and escalation skills.
• Strong debugging and trouble shooting skills
• Experience in supporting Data Warehouses and Data Marts.
• Experience in supporting Web based applications.
• Expertise in trouble shooting and resolving databae performance bottlenecks. • Strong Sybase, Oracle PL/SQL coding / debugging skills.
• Experience with UNIX/Perl scripting.
• Experience with Business Objects XIR2 (Web Intelligence, SDK & Crystal Reports).
• Experience with CTRL-M/Autosys/CA Unicenter scheduler.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills. Expertise in incident and problem management procedures
Good to have :
- 1 Experience in Informatica powercenter tool.
- 1 years of work experience in a web-based distributed client server environment (J2E, IBM’s WebSphere, MQ, Mule)
- IT Infrastructure Library (ITIL) basic course
