Roles & Responsibilities - include specific functions/ tasks/ performance objectives

Asset Management Operations has a large presence in Mumbai and a growing presence in Bangalore - this requires operations leadership/expertise in managing large teams in a matrix environment. The current position is for an Vice President role. Candidates should have a very strong Ops experience.

The candidate will be required to oversee and be responsible for managing Ops businesses in Mumbai for the International Private Bank in specific regions.

The candidate will have a direct reporting line into the ED / Vice President – Securities Operations and will be directly responsible for the day to day operations, including transaction processing, client service and Operational & Systemic controls.

The candidate will be responsible for understanding the key metrics and risk components within each process within the Operations world and manage the team to meet the financial goals and objectives put forth by these processes, while partnering globally with the regions where the business operations are located. The candidate will be responsible for maintaining staff and budget requirements.

/ Direct & Indirect Responsibilities would include / :-
* Responsible for meeting client deliverables with a high level of timeliness and accuracy

* Develop an environment of continuous focus on quantifiable productivity and quality.

* Constant and regular review of processes and performance with focus on improving departmental competency / performance rating.

* Identify business knowledge gaps and ensure everyone has ownership of deliverables.

* Interact with global location managers in an effective and professional manner.

* Foster and champion High Performance Culture where people are empowered to make decisions that affect their work/environment.

* Monitors all relevant Management Information System data ensuring all issues have been resolved expediently.

* Responsible for leading and managing multiple projects

* Identifies department strategy and goals related to broader organizational goals and direction.

* Constant and regular review for direct reports. Set expectations with direct reports, regarding positive motivation and leading through accountability.

* Develop and lead a team that is responsive to dynamic organizational and operational changes.

* Accountability for Performance Management and Talent Review process.

* From a training perspective, responsible for ensuring training is taking place and that it is within budget.

* Responsible for risk management and audit to the business.

* Participate in special projects such as, data clean up, process improvement analysis, strategic projects.

* Develop and report metrics to monitor progress and identify opportunities for change.

* Meet internal clients/partners service level agreements and work collaboratively to establish goals.

* Establish action plans for any control self assessment items
/ Functional Responsibilities: /
* Operationally leading the process of incoming & outgoing transfers of assets

* Leading the Middle office operations including settlements of trades, release and monitoring of swift messages for brokerage and Investment managed clients

* Leading the Alternatives investments operations team for Private Equity, Hedge Funds & Mutual Funds
VP will be managing teams which are responsible for:

* IM Trade Support and Derivatives Middle Office team is a very critical team in AM Ops -- India. This team is responsible for managing the trade matching, confirmations and resolving trade breaks across Equities, Fixed Income, FX, Derivatives (OTC & ETD), CFDs.

* The said position is currently providing oversight and coverage to these teams. A VP-role is required to have a strong domain & functional expertise. The candidate is required to have strong securities background specifically having hands-on exposure to Derivatives business. He should be able to understand the market nuances, Operating model, business landscape and touch-points across various market participants.

* The candidate is required to develop and maintain the strong working relationship with all the onshore teams. This is the most critical function which needs to be covered late in the North America time-zone.

* Strong knowledge of International Banking and financial services operations.

* Client focus - Role involves servicing High Profile Private Bank client facing teams and ensuring that a super client experience is one of the key deliverables for the team.

* People management - Should be able to manage large teams as well as manage the expectations of people.

* Having global exposure and in-depth understanding of entire trade life cycle

* Exposure to non banking financial services.

* Must have managed large teams across multiple locations

* Excellent in communication & interpersonal skills

* Ability to articulate, influence and drive change by first focusing on creating strong credibility

* Ability to question status and connect with people at the grass root level and invest in their development

* Should be willing to work US hours given the fact that most of the functions are US based, facing off to middle offices and front office support groups.
