How was your week, guys? I did a Clever Session with the amazing FaceForward, attempted to impress my friends by bringing mini dark chocolate pecan pies to a party, saw this awesome play, and finished my holiday shopping.
Links! For you!
I loved these outtakes from Leslie Plesser's dog photo shoots (she also shot the Puss In Books calendar!) And check out her workshop for photographing your kiddos.
Awesome! Man decorates basement with $10 worth of Sharpie.
This article about the demolition of a small town's waffle house broke my heart.
At 79, Bud was tired. Except for Christmas, the restaurant was always open, day and night. Now a developer wanted to replace it with another apartment building for college kids. The offer was too good to pass up.
“Where are we gonna eat?” the old-timers kept asking.
“I don’t know,” Bud said. “Where am I gonna eat?”
Such a cute, cozy dress!
Maybe the only time I'll link to anything related to professional sports: The story of John Moffitt and how he walked away from a million dollars because he didn't love playing football anymore.
Yes! I, too, inexplicably did not expect to age and have been shocked (shocked!) to see that I am, in fact, a human.
Some part of my brain actually assumed that I wouldn’t age, and now that I am aging, I’m surprised. I am actually, quite literally surprised to see visible signs of aging in my own body. I should very much like to sit down with whatever portion of my is brain in charge of these things and give it a good talking-to. Because this is downright ridiculous.
Well, this is the cutest and the funniest: Lena Dunham interviewing Mindy Kaling.
I'm Agnostic but I was raised going to church. I think I'd consider one of the Atheist 'mega churches' that are popping up. Would you?
My BFF and I call this type of sweater 'Art Professor Sweaters.' I care not. I love them!
My friend Katie nailed it with this hilarious post. An Alien's Maid of Honor Speech for Her Human Best Friend.
Ladies and gentlemen, friends and family of the happy couple, I want to thank you all for being here on this joyous occasion. My name is Tiffany, I decided, and I just want to say a few words about the best friend I’ve ever had on this planet. Sarah and Mark are joining themselves today in what I understand is a binding contractual relationship subject to local laws and customs and which, I was informed earlier, does not involve the ceremonial exchange of the heart muscles. Apparently that is only meant metaphorically.
You could wear this top a million times this holiday season.
Helpful! The most effective way to get a bartender's attention.
Watch this gif if you're feeling less-than.
After a few days in Iceland last year, I loved the tour of this sweet little Icelandic cottage.
A really interesting read about Herpes, how you get it, how to you transfer it, if you should tell people, and how doctors diagnose it. (A lot of this information is quite different to what I learned in Sex Ed. a million years ago!)
A reminder that you're the one driving this car. (METAPHOR ALERT.)
You’re the one who decides (mostly) where you’re going. Life typically (see: always) prevents the ideal A to B route we’d like. Any number of things (road construction, flat tire, missed turn, etc.) could sidetrack us. But if we’re focused and consistent, we can keep making progress toward our target. That’s the secret here—persistence and the ability, or willingness, to modify our itinerary.
Oooooh, goodness. This is good. HAIM and Lorde cover Sheryl Crow's Strong Enough.
